There's no need to say how much we love everything that comes from Asia, that endless source of DJs and producers that consistently astounds us here at MM Discos, this time, it's the young Japanese talent Daichi who takes control of the ship.

To trace Daichi's roots, we must travel to Enoshima, where he began cultivating a passion for DJing and collecting records from a very young age. Working as a teenager at the legendary club Oppa-La exposed him to some of the world's best DJs, opening doors to a myriad of influences and new sounds that young Daichi eagerly added to his arsenal.

Fresh from his recent release here at MM Discos and forthcoming at the "mighty" Crue-L Records, Daichi is also one of the founders of the Tokyo-based collective "Vinyl Youth," stirring up the nights of the Japanese capital for quite some time now.

Come and discover one of "Tokyo's best-kept secrets" and a piece of his immense record collection... here at MM Discos, we're already big fans of Daichi, can you tell?

New month, new episode of our selector series - this time hailing from Cologne we welcome Earl Orlog! He is one of the most avid all-around record collectors we know, unearthing the most peculiar tracks from around the world which he showcases on his Youtube channel. Besides this, he releases own tracks, edits, and remixes that are worth checking out! 

Needless to say we were excited for this one and we were not disappointed! Let Earl take you on a trip starting off a sun-kissed mediterranean island, through the mysterious streets of Cairo, to some sweaty underground venue in NYC. Joe Morris seemed to come out of nowhere until I realized he was in front of me all along, as part of the Clandestino crew who put out a handful of nu-balearic joints on wax that I was checking in the late teens and on 12” singles for quirky & adventuresome labels like Pleasure Unit, Is It Balearic? & Wonder Stories. When his 2019 full-length album Exotic Language launched Joe’s Shades Of Sound label and a collab with local homie Cole Odin, I was all-in! SOS has been firing on all cylinders recently, and when Joe reached out we realized he’d be perfect for the first international guest on the mix series since the relaunch. 

A lovely journey through languid afternoons on a hot beach, nostalgic throwbacks to the good old days, obscure 80s blue-eyed funk, AOR groovers, foreign versions of beloved heaters, heady ambience, some Spanish guitar (natch!) and a heap of Balearic feelings are what this mix is all about. Perfect vibes for the final lights of Summer! Thanks Joe for the mix and we hope you enjoy.
