Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 13th May: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch529

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Mae fy mrawd a finnau wedi bod yn sgwennu caneuon gyda'n gilydd ers cyfnod hir rŵan. Dyma gân o'n "back-catalogue", wedi'i ysgrifennu nôl ym Metws-y-coed yng nghanol y 2010au, wn ni ddim pryd yn union. Roedd y gân yn poblogaedd iawn gyda'n gynulleidfaoedd ar y pryd (roedden ni'n berfformio o dan enw arall adeg yna). 

Buom ni'n recordio'r gân yn 2018 yn Rhydychen gyda'n ffrindiau, Nico a Jakes (sydd bellach yn berfformio o dan yr enw, Pecq, ewch i wrando arnyn nhw!), ond ni ryddhaom y gân oherwydd doeddwn ni ddim yn gigio lot gyda'r prosiect erbyn hynny, gan fod ni'n ddau yn bwy mewn dinasoedd gwahanol. 

Mae gennon ni prosiect newydd yn bellach, fel rydach chi wedi sylwi, felly, dyma chi'r gân "bwdl ldl lwm bwm bwm", o'r diwedd! Mwynhewch.

My brother and I have been writing songs together for a while now. Here's one from our back catelogue. We came up with this little ditty while jamming on the piano in our family home in Betws-y-coed at somepoint towards the middle of the 2010s, not sure when exactly. It was a hit with audiences at the time (we performed under a different name back then).

We recorded the song in Oxford in 2018 with our friends Nico and Jakes (who now perform under the name Pecq, checl them out!), but then we ended up not releasing it, because we weren't gigging that much with that band at the time due to us living in different cities. 

Since then, as you've noticed, we started this new project! :D So, the time came to release the "bobl lobl lom bom bom" song at last! Enjoy :)

My Love

Ever since we released MetaGoth#1 back in 2022, we have been promising to create a MetaGoth#2. We are thrilled to tell you that we have at last done exactly that!

At a cracking 165bpm, MetaGoth#1 was a danceable track full of palpable tension, anger and defiance. As its name suggests, it was also a playful take on familiar gothic tropes and sounds, plus a lot of what came after those heady days in the early ‘80s, when the two of us helped, in our own small way, to bring this musical genre into being. 

Alone (MetaGoth#2) carries on in this same vein. It takes the same riffs and augmented samples that we used to create MetaGoth#1, but this time it broods along at an imperious 61bpm, and hosts a new set of fabulous percussion and vocals, referencing an altogether more melancholic and poetic facet from the postpunk scene. Complementing this are the lyrics, drawn from that most gothic of writers, Edgar Allan Poe.

Unperturbed, he draws a halt to their advance by using his screaming guitar before stunning them with his jazz improvisation! In the end, they march off together; Marc is now indeed of the Aliens. In an attempt to soothe tensions amongst the aliens, Rob G. appears to serenade them....
