 In April of 2013, on a NYC bound train (where the guys would meet up with, and Eric perform with, David Myhr), John began humming the chorus refrain of the song that eventually would become "The Girl Holding Out For Me." (Incidentally, this same train ride's return trip also gave birth to the title and lyrical concept for "My Lost Colony" from VWR's "Rings" album). The climbing chorus melody was so infectious it soon developed into this track, which has now become the first single released from VWR's upcoming fourth album (as further songs are still being written and recorded for that effort). 

 With "The Girl Holding Out For Me," VWR returns in force with a tale of the longing, the faith, and the patience/impatience of youth. It also marks the first track featuring VWR's phenomenal new drummer, the formidable DC ace musician Andy Hamburger. We hope you dig this new song, and stay tuned for more to follow!

The Fireflys are a UK-Americana/Alternative band from Runcorn, North-West England. 
Based on the songwriting of Singer/Guitarist Lee Wylding, the bands line up is completed by Bassist Sam Bramhall, Piano player Chris Tann and Drummer Andie Packer. 
Marking the beginning of a new generation of UK Americana/alternative guitar bands, The Fireflys are indebted sonically to the likes of Neil Young and Tom Petty, to more recently R.E.M. and City & Colour. 
Fireworks Magazine has labelled them "The UK's answer to Counting Crows", whilst Mike Peters of The Alarm  recently said on live TV that the band "are a good mix of REM and The Gin Blossoms". 
After the cult success of "Embers Of The Autumn", The Fireflys 4th LP "The Illumination Of Everything" is due for release in April 2016 and will be distributed through Townsend Stores (The Who, Noel Gallagher) on the Canadia Records label. 
Three singles have already been lifted from the album "Release/Repeat, Branches & Illumination", and have enjoyed airplay on BBC Radio, Old Trafford Stadium, MUTV, Bay TV Liverpool and many other various stations, with each single peaking at #1 on the Amazon charts and top 10 on the iTunes Country & Alternative charts respectively.
