The Glitz is back! Your favourite duo has spent the last year in the studio making plans for world domination and of course new music. Step by step they are now initiating their mischievous plan. First, they are starting their own new record label. Secondly, they are releasing some smashing singles. And for the end game they are taking a deep dive into the world of genre bending sounds for their much anticipated, second album.

Andreas Henneberg and Daniel Nitsch are known and loved for their one of a kind approach to music. Through their diverse musical backgrounds they have created a unique universe consist-ing of different wavelengths and genres, all blended together in a beautiful, electrifying “The Glitz” sound. Their particular style has led them to release on labels such as Defected, Material and Ka-termukke, as well as on their own label Voltage Musique that they ran as a collective for 18 years.

Now they are ready to forge a new path, and we are here for it! Starting this exciting project with their new label “The Glitz Audio”. Daniel and Andreas take the curtain call with their first release this year, “Papu”. And you immediately know from the energy in this tune that it is going to be a good year.

Situated somewhere between dramatic synth melodies and a heavy hitting bassline, this track gives us all that is good and juicy with electronic music at the same time. As The Glitz is a synonym for fat grooves, you immediately go in to full goosebump mode when the first beat steps in. There is a lingering and energy loaded dark vibe that builds up and intensifies before rupturing into a wild frenzy of playful synths, taking you on a proper rollercoaster ride. It breaks down and builds itself up again, creating that extremely satisfying release of tenseness at the exact moment when you can’t take the excitement anymore.

This track is a proper reintroduction of their sound, craftiness as soundscapers and dance floor guides. The Glitz is back to take you on a trip through powerful drum work and twisted sounds, leaving you sweaty and happy on the dance floor. This is “Papu”.

The album “Axen” marks the beginning of a new chapter for The Glitz as they embark on a journey beyond the world of electronic music. After a wide range of beautiful, inspiring, provoking and uplifting The Glitz-singles, we are now approaching the full album in all its might. The singles have shown us the diverse soundscapes you can find in Andreas and Daniel’s musical multiverse, with the genres ranging from the classic House and Techno genres, to also introducing their take on Trip Hop, Neo RnB, Hip Hop, Ballad and Electronica.
 
This journey into their musical realm has resonated with fans and colleagues alike the last months, putting the first single on position 1 in the German Club Charts for four weeks straight (it is still in the Beatport top100 after 7 months). The following singles have been heavily supported by artists like Radio Slave, Sam Divine, Acid Pauli, Green Velvet and Maceo Plex to name a few, while also being played on radio stations world wide.
 
Born out of a desire to create a space to explore and expand their unique sound, their new album “Axen” is a bold extension of The Glitz’ vision and purpose. It has been a long time coming and is the result of four intense years in the studio together with the unique and talented singer and songwriter Mulay. And now it is time to present the full album to the world.
 
“Axen” is the mesmerising product of one of their many jam sessions in the studio. It carries the unique The Glitz fingerprints all over it while also letting them shine in a new context. The slow flowing Hip Hop beat paired with Mulay’s raw vocals and incredibly poetical and personal lyrics is a must hear for old and new The Glitz-fans alike.
 
Placed between some of the beautiful singles we have heard before, “Ergh” hits us with full force. The track takes us on a breaky, synth loaded trip. As an energetic and driving fresh breath of air, the track combines a frisky attitude with a tension building arrangement, showing that while Andreas and Daniel embrace new genres and styles, they still have good ears for club oriented, heavier hits as well.
 
“Flummi” is put to work in a similar setting, but with a completely different world of sounds. Bright synths slowly build up, paralleled with the pulsating low end and guiding the listener towards an explosive breakdown. The track is followed by the wild and intoxicating “Rabbit Underground” that swoops you off your feet like a rocket launch. A skilfully crafted yet raw drum work with an exquisite snare creates a foundation for tantalising synths and captivating vocals that radiates with power. After this rollercoaster of a track, the wilderness is countered with the soft and playful “Mother”. The Glitz bring together various layers of soft synths and smooth percussions, creating a beautiful sphere where the captivating vocals by Mulay shine in a new way. Ending this incredible journey of sound exploration is the stunning ballad “Seven Rivers”. No noise, no distractions, just a beautifully stripped down ballad that carries an ocean of emotions. A perfect completion of “Axen”.
 
In their own way, each song carries the unique sound characteristics that Andreas and Daniel are so known and loved for, while giving them space to experiment and show themselves in new ways. The mix of emotionally charged, dance floor oriented and vibrant songs are bound to give the listeners an entrancing, unforgettable experience.

The Glitz are ready to start their journey towards the big “AXEN” album release in April, and they are starting it with a proper statement track. The first single “Dicktator” is a shot fired against the ambiguity of wealth, power and morality that seems to run through our societies. Western countries getting rich through selling weapons to war torn areas, then working against helping refugees who seek shelter. Politicians lying through their teeth in their hunt for more power. And it is just accepted. The irony of it all is poetically worded by the beautiful and fierce vocals of Fanny Winter, while Andreas and Daniel have created a monster of a song. A frenzy of groove, percussions and synths blend in the style of rough electronica. Like something you have never heard before, the track pushes forward, powerful and full of attitude. 

While the original is a masterpiece, the guys have also put their heads together to give us a version suited for the clubs. “Dicktator (Club Mix)” is as groovy as they come. Think beach house inspired but with a heavy hitting bassline, quirked synth elements and of course, the occasional vocal elements from the original. A bass heavy groove ride with smooth percussions perfectly suited for both those dark nights in the club as well as dusty afternoons on a festival dance floor. We are excited to see where this journey towards the new The Glitz album will take us. One thing is certain though, the first release hits the ground running and we know we are in for a treat!

The Glitz are now ready to set off 2024 with a big bang. And a big bang is what we get with the track carrying the fitting title, “All In”. Here, the guys deliver a tune that fumes with attitude. Wild synths make a slow rise, building up a kind of tension that electrifies your whole body. The stomping groove drives the track forward, introducing us to a frenzy of sounds before moving towards the heavy hitting lift off. 

While the original track is already packed with The Glitz-vibes, Andreas and Daniel also serve us an excellent “Club Mix” that ensures no-one will be left standing still on the dance floor. Taking a more technoid approach to this one, they excellently reconstruct the track into a heavy hitting club tune infused with the wildness from the original, creating a whole new world of dance floor energy. It is a whirlwind of synths and bass, ready to blow you away.

The Glitz are back with their next album single. “Golden” is as breathtaking as they come, with a warm and pulsating undertone that irradiates tenderness. The much anticipated single is a fresh breath of electrifying air, with a club mix that carries a rolling groove, playful percussions and Mulay’s mesmerising vocals. The sound is deep and powerful, with a hint of that cheeky attitude that we love from The Glitz.

While the club mix is an excellent match for dance floors, the original version of “Golden” expands in sound, leaving the background noise behind. Mulay’s vocals tell us her story of love and desire. She draws you in, holds you gently in her grip before exhaling you with the fierce groove. Over the course of the singles leading up to the album we find ourselves wondering how The Glitz manage to create such varied, catchy, tender and raw soundscapes. Andreas and Daniel’s seventh album single “Give it to me” marks the end of seven remarkable months, each giving us a taste of their upcoming album that is packed with a wide range of genres, themes and emotions. And it is not by accident that this bombastic tune was saved to be the final single before the big album drops May 24th!

The Glitz strike yet again with a track packed with attitude. Twisted synths and a stomping groove create a solid foundation for the powerful and intoxicating vocal by the phenomenal Mulay. While the track pushes forward there are quirky sound elements making an entry at every corner. This exhilarating alternation shows how the guys have a delicate ear for distinctive details in their soundscapes. Tension builds up and is released in a frothing energy blast.

While the original is a breathtaking experience in itself, the guys have taken it upon themselves to also give us a stunning “Club Edit” that oozes of “The Glitz”. A gritty baseline, perky percussions and raw synths are ready to make the dance floor rotate. The musical background of these two guys is just very different. Everything began with an oldschool hip hop and crossover. In the middle of the 90’s they found their love for house and techhouse music. After moving on as DJ’s and having some solo releases the young and talented guys decided to create THE GLITZ in 2007. There they started with three members - but now they’re down to two now. The first EP “White Line” was a huge success. Surprisingly THE GLITZ found themselves in many DJ playlists and other electronic music charts around the world. Their follwong releases “Chatter” and “Tenga” tie in with the success of “White line”. THE GLITZ have a few releases waiting in the start blocks. So you can get ready for next singles called “Silbersee”, “Last Panther” and “Red Leaves”. Labels like Material, Ideal, Voltage Musique and Pocketgame support THE GLITZ and their kind of electronic music. The keen sense for the right sound at the right moment makes THE GLITZ not only convincing as producer but also as a DJ-Team in the clubs. People love their energetic sets, but also to see their passion behind the decks is worthwhile is the motivation of this two guys.
