Dangerous Blues

Less than 12 months after their glorious debut full-length Deep Fried, an album of fuzzed-out
cathartic (anti-) spirituals, London trio Miraculous Mule have gone and pulled Blues Uzi out from
underneath their smocks. Blues Uzi is MM's (drive-by) take on being "shot down by the blues".
The band maintains, quite rightly and very righteously, that the blues is a feeling not a genre, and
in the case of co-frontman Patrick McCarthy - fully automatic, 600 RPM and living next door to
you. This furious song is the product of Patrick's lack of comprehension of these times, building
up over decades into holy and disbelieving shitfire.
The title track is the first of 8 that make up this interim CD mini-album, which also includes:
Highway Sound, a song that tells the story of a man wrestling with his natural inclination to walk
the crooked road of his youth and the conscience that ties him to the settled life he has fallen into.
City Of Refuge and Judgement are based on songs by Blind Willie Johnson and Rev. Sister Mary
Nelson respectively, both with new lyrics written by Michael J Sheehy, who explains: "Having long
been an apostate, the lack of a belief in the heavenly hereafter has never really troubled me. But
the lack of a belief in a truly terrible place where the evil fucks of this world would be punished for
the wrongs they have committed, now that really does trouble me! These songs convey an
apocalyptic vision where a vengeful and just God returns to destroy all those who waged war,
raped women and children, subjugated the poor and destroyed the planet in his name."
I Don't Do Nobody Nothin' is a traditional song which deals with good old fashioned hypocritical
Christian bigotry and is as true today as it was when it was sung decades ago. There are two
bonus songs on the album which are culled from the bands debut vinyl-only 10 inch mini album
and are available here on CD for the first time.
The band embark on a series of autumn and winter shows before retreating to their rock'n'roll
vestries to wage another battle of life or death for your eventual listening pleasure. Appointments

Short Bio: Working under the Sleepingdog moniker since 2006 Chantal has made three acclaimed records that closed on the ‘With Our Heads in the Clouds and Our Hearts in the Fields’ (2010) album for which she collaborated with Adam Wiltzie (Stars of the Lid, A Winged Victory For The Sullen), and touring extensively both in Europe and North America. Besides Sleepingdog Chantal has played in various other formations like Isbells, True Bypass, Marble Sounds and Distance, Light & Sky. She recorded her new album ‘The Sparkle In Our Flaws’ with Peter Broderick (known from his solo work on labels such as Bella Union and Erased Tapes and from his work with a.o. Efterklang) and Shahzad Ismaily (regular collaborator of a.o. Lou Reed, Tom Waits and Bonnie Prince Billy). Besides Peter and Shahzad, you will also hear contributions from Valgeir Sigurdsson, Heather Woods Broderick, Niels Van Heertum and Eric Thielemans. ‘The Sparkle In Our Flaws’ is the first album with Glitterhouse and will be released 09/25.

After releasing the debut ep ”Curtains” on a 500-dollar budget in 2014 Vita Bergen has snowballed into one of the most talked about bands in Sweden: they’ve topped the ITunes charts, played sold out venues in Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavia and are being played on national television in the US. They’ve received several awards in Sweden and is by many believed to be the next big thing on the European indie scene.

The singer William Hellström is described as a cult leader on speed and co-founder Robert Jallinder as one of Scandinavia’s most eccentric guitarists. Their uncontrolled, often chaotic live shows have left the band with concussions, nails up their feet and torn apart fingers – and still they say they make pop music. Influenced by acts like  MGMT, Pink Floyd, The Jesus & Mary Chain or The Brian Jonestown Massacre the band has made it to ”one of Sweden’s underground success stories” (Clash Magazine).

After several heavyweights in the music business, such as NME, Vice, The Line of Best Fit and Clash Magazine have praised the band, now the time has come for their debut full-length album. Vita Bergen will release ”Disconnection” with Glitterhouse Records on the 3rd of March 2016 and will tour this May with gigs all around Europe. Vita Bergen has emerged from Sweden’s warehouse scene where they first made a name for themselves with their two magnetic front men who’ve left their former lives as straight A-students behind.

THE GRAND JOURNEY sind ein Schmelztiegel aus Americana Fuzz Rock, Heavy Blues & Roots Rock und sprengen dennoch immer wieder die Grenzen verschiedenster Genres. Dabei ist es mal die Akustikgitarre (René Dohrmann), mal die Orgel (Thomas Münch), die das Fundament der Songs bilden, bis sich ganz unverhofft durch die Leadgitarre (Marco Mehlis) die gesamte Weite ihrer Musik zu entfalten beginnt. Genau wenn man sich in schwelgender Sicherheit zu befinden denkt, setzen Schlagzeug (Sebastian Kuhlmey) und Bass (Michael Schallert) mit elektrisierenden Grooves ein und bringen zusammen das Publikum in Fahrt. Es ist nicht zuletzt René Dohrmann am Gesang, der die Grenzen immer wieder einreißt, das Publikum in den musikalischen Flieger setzt und auf ihre eigene musikalische Reise schickt. Die Route ist nicht vorgegeben und bewegt sich zwischen Euphorie und Sehnsucht, Lebensfreude und Ausgelassenheit, Hoffnung und Optimismus. Seit 2010 macht diese vielversprechende Band aus Potsdam bereits zusammen Musik. Auf zahlreichen Clubkonzerten und Festivalauftritten, wie dem ORANGE BLOSSOM SPECIAL, zeigten sie dabei immer ihre großartige Live Performance. THE GRAND JOURNEY spielte unter anderem mit AnnenMayKantereit, BigBang, Coogans Bluff, Spidergawd, Golden Kanine, I Heart Sharks, Die Nerven & Get Well Soon zusammen und begeisterte im Vorprogramm von Tom Jones und UB 40 beim Stadtwerkefestival 2014 in Potsdam tausende Menschen und machte die Band weit über die Grenzen der Stadt bekannt. Es sind besonders die energiegeladenen Live-Shows, die im Gedächtnis bleiben. Es wird getanzt, geschwitzt, mitgesungen und gejammt oder kurzum, die Liebe zur Musik mit aller Hingabe zelebriert.
