Raised in Tel Aviv and more recently a resident of Berlin, the latest offering from Eskimo Recordings is the track ‘Fernandez' coming from Moscoman.

Moscoman has only been producing for a relatively short period of time but has already had releases on Cosmo Vitelli’s label I ’m A Cliché and Headman’s Relish. He has established himself as a key electronic artist who uses a range of influences in his music, such as rock and new wave. Moscoman regularly plays at the most interesting parties all over Europe as well as his current base of Berlin.

Moscoman has created a track in which several layers result in an extremely catchy and playful release. ‘Fernandez’ incorporates punchy claps, an almost psychedelic melody, and a bassline that seamlessly brings all the parts together.

One of the last pieces of music we completed before shutting down The Bunker Studio San Francisco, in 2014, was a remix for the wonderful Sally Dige. We spent many hours working on this remix the way remixes used to be made: sampling sampling sampling & sequencing sequencing sequencing. Nothing but several hardware samplers, synthesizers, an MPC2000xl, and a big ole mixing desk was used to make the end result you hear.

As you might noticed we do like Lauer a lot at LYO ! Few weeks ago we featured Phillip on @emotional-especial with a premiere of his S-Fire remix.  He's now back with his brother Jacob for a full four-tracker ep under their mighty Hotel Lauer project, known for its taste for percussion, synths and drums. Things starts with the most club friendly and definitely head-rushing track ever on Especial, in "Tamzarian" here premiered. Acid, tick. 909, tick. Piano, tick. The sound of the summer encapsulating in 6 and half pulsating minutes. Pacha terrace, free party dew covered fields, Barbarellas sunrises. We already feel like it's Tisno !

Up next on Phonica Premieres is a seriously groovy cut from International Soleil Band off the new Soundway 12".  Ta Lassa is an '80s West African Disco crossover from the International Soleil band straight outta Guinea. Composed by Gnamakoron Sidi Diabaté it was originally featured on an album released in 1983 by French Warners offshoot WAM (West African Music) - a short lived label that recorded about 20 releases of West African music released in France. Also Featuring Mory Djely Kouyate this track was a staple of the 22 band's repertoire in the 1970s (in which many of the ISB played) - famous for their recordings on the legendary state-run Editions Syliphone label. We've decided to premiere the extended (DJ friendly) Hide & Smile edit on the A side. There's throbbing bass and keyboard interplay punctuated by classic Guinee guitar lines, metronomic drumming and 80s synth sweeps eventually drops into a more recognisable Guinean vocal outing. Pinkman cast their net eastwards. The latest finding, Hungary’s Norwell, offers up four genre splicing cuts. Rhythms are from the golden age of electro, cold and prototypical. Around these sharp percussion patterns swirl a wealth of melting synthlines. Pads, deep basslines and a ghosting presence characterise the title track, that same spectral mood weaves its way through the sweetened strings and distorted judders of “Dissonant Division.” The frigid bars of “Nordic Nights” introduces the flip, arctic winds pierced by snapping snares. Emotional depth ebbs and flows as the rich and textured “Wasted Echoes” brings down the curtain on Norwell’s Pinkman debut.
