From the opening line, "mark my words", Rob Bailey & The Hustle Standard are making a statement with their second album, appropriately titled, Beast.  If you're not familiar with the RBHS sound it's a mixture of hardcore, dubstep, hiphop, and punk elements meant to get you off your ass and headed down a path of domination.  Fans of their previous EP, Battle Tested, will be happy to know that Beast picks up  right where the duo left off.  The Hustle Standard's production is still huge; Rob Bailey's voice is still larger-than-life; and the songs still make you want to run through walls.

Beast starts with the song "I Am Not Done" which features the Brooklyn-born artist Moxiie proclaiming "This is not last year and I am not done here".  The second song is also the title-track, "Beast", and quite simply, this one is a BEAST.  On "Run This" Charley Hustle (a.k.a The Hustle Standard) sings "I'm too busy chasing mine to let the world leave me behind/I'm going for mine", and on "What I Live For" Rob's hell-fire voice demands that you "Wake up!".  "Ambulances", a fun play on Rob's verse from "Run Shit", features the Bronx rapper, Drew Boogie.  The remix to "I Am Not Done" is an uptempo, electro remix that helps the album breathe before getting into the final remix.  "The Beast Remix" is not just a remix of the song "Beast", but of the whole album with elements of every song over heavy trap style production.  The final song, "Jealous", is undoubtedly the most unique of the 8 songs, and on first listen could be seen as a departure for the pair, but all of the intensity and honor, that make Rob Bailey & The Hustle Standard what they are, is front and center over this methodical, evolving track.  Overall, Beast, is a declaration that, despite any odds, people can not only overcome, but can become Beasts.

Sasha's label, Last Night On Earth continues to maintain it's forward thinking approach to releasing a diverse range of quality electronic music.

Finally seeing the light of day is Sasha's take on Hot Chip’s “Flutes".  Having been a firm favourite and closing track of many of his recent sets, he twists it in to his classic melodic vibe that only he does so well, taking the original into a new dimension for the clubs and festivals.

Beautiful synth work builds and breaks throughout the track, with tight drum programming keeping the track flowing and taking you on a melodic journey, as only Sasha can do.

Charley Hustle (The Hustle Standard) brought in the young and talented UK producer, Lost Soul, to do a special remix version of the entire Rob Bailey & The Hustle Standard smash hit EP, ‘Battle Tested’.  

The original album dropped on May 15, 2012 and shot straight to #1 on the iTunes Top Electronic Albums chart followed by a debut at #13 on the Billboard Heatseeker’s chart later that week. With the help of their publishers, Wonderlous Music Publishing, fan favorite track “Hungry” was selected as ESPN's "Elite 11" 2012 mini-series theme song and was placed in a SportsCenter Arian Foster feature sponsored by Under Armor (see here: http://www.dlpentertainment.com/work/arian-foster-armour/). 

While still built around the writing and vocal performances of Rob Bailey & Charley Hustle, Lost Soul takes the sound deeper into the worlds of dub-step, and electronica, all while amping up the intensity of an already adrenaline packed set of songs.  The only thing that doesn’t change is the drill-sergeant manner in which Rob Bailey & The Hustle Standard pushes it’s listeners to work harder, do better, and achieve anything.

New Men Old Boys 

It's easy to spot the hard hitting drums, ever present bass lines, and nostalgic background vocals of New Men Old Boys.  In addition to Hustle's very stylized production the most endearing element of this EP is the true grit of Jake Hill's prodding voice, but considering the perspective of words strung together with experience and craftsmanship, ultimately, the weight of the EP is in the lyrics.  These songs were inspired by a range of concepts from the fear of love had and lost to the celebration of a driving independence. 

In the end these two artists have created a music collection that is neither Jake Hill nor Charley Hustle but Jay Kill &amp; The Hustle Standard.  This is the first collaboration between the folk/americana artist Jake Hill (Jay Kill) and producer/songwriter Charley Hustle (The Hustle Standard).  Both creators agree that this process was by far one of the most enjoyable either has ever been a part of.

New Men Old Boys is the first EP in a line of "Hustle Standard" projects that Charley Hustle is in the process of creating with artists from RnB to Pop and Rock.
