This is the very first song I sang with my friends at Cowboy Cadence. I wrote it because of someone very special to me, named Kathy Trevelyan had inspired me to write it.

The song is called “In the Quiet Room.” Sometimes, when I feel sad or hurt, it’s like I’m sitting all alone in a quiet room. I wanted to write a song about how that feels—like when you’re sad and don’t know what to say, or when you feel like nobody can see you.

But the song isn’t just about being sad. It’s also about being brave, even just a little bit! As the song goes on, I try to show how I start to feel a tiny bit better—maybe by saying “no” when something isn’t right, or by letting myself cry if I need to. That’s how I learn to trust myself and remember that I’m not all alone.

At the end of the song, I make a promise to myself, and to you!, that I can let love and happiness come back into my heart, even if I still feel a little sad sometimes. The song is a gentle hug, reminding you that it’s okay to feel quiet or sad, and that you are never really alone. Even if your voice is soft, it’s still important, and people want to hear you.
