Their research is compiled in a two-part podcast series titled "Drought and Impending Disaster: The Impacts of Water Shortage in Chihuahua, Mexico."

In "Part 1: Farming's Future," Phil and Azeem interview Dr. Carlos Manjarrez, an academic from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (UACH) and member of the Agricultural Federation of Chihuahua, as well as local farmers, to learn more about the agricultural community’s perspective on drought in the Rio Conchos Basin.

Part 2: Government Action

The LBJ School observed Hispanic Heritage Month 2022with keynote conversations with nationally recognized leaders in public policy.

At an event titled "Investing in the Next Generation," civil rights leader and former 2020 U.S. Senate candidate Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez discussed her personal call to civil rights advocacy in the Latino and immigrant communities, a calling she honed here in Central Texas. The conversation, moderated by JEDI director, Estevan Delgado, also explored the current local and national landscape of economic justice, racial justice, immigrant rights, civil discourse, and how we can work together to strengthen democracy for generations to come.
