Puritan: “This is the first part of my contribution to the Lightvessel Transmission, dedicated to one of my earliest inspirations, John Juan Mendez, who sadly left us last year. While it carries some personal, hidden meanings, I leave it up to the listener to carve their own story from it. I’ll just share the backstory behind the 1980s photograph Mujer Ángel, taken in the Sonora Desert by Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide:

I went with a group to a cave where there are indigenous paintings. I took just one picture of this woman during the walk there. I call her Mujer Ángel because she looks as if she could fly off into the desert. She was carrying a tape recorder, which the Seris got from the Americans, in exchange for handicrafts such as baskets and carvings, so they could listen to Mexican music".

Aesther: "I crafted this mix in a deeply charged emotional state. Driven by the feeling of injustice and grief, I wanted to dedicate this mix to all the people of Palestine undergoing g3nocide. I felt the urge to pour those emotions by stepping out of my comfort zone with different music genres (dark ambient, breakbeat techno, post-techno, indus, hypnotic techno, tribal dub), polyrhythms, and a 3-deck live mix. Comfort is what lays us into clay and blinds us. This mix is a message to Humanity, to claim its power…. An incantation that defies the echo chamber to call for unity".

Bio:

Francesco Tella, known as Nghtly, is a producer and DJ and live performer originally from Caserta, Italy, whose music explores existential depths through rhythms and melodies. Starting his career at the age of 18, he is influenced by EBM and Techno music, finding his authentic expression in techno body music. Each EP released tells a story, turning his productions into mystical experiences that invite introspection. CHAPTER L: T.H.B.X.

This mix draws its spirit from Louise Bourgeois’ Crucifixion — an attempt to wrap sound around the feeling of her work, where fear and pain are sculpted into form. Her fragmented bodies speak of both fragility and resilience, a coexistence of suffering and strength. The pain we carry can, in its transformation, become art. To echo that landscape, Nitsa turned to works by legendary sonic architects such as The Klinik, The Electric Hellfire Club, Von Thronstahl and Maska Genetik creating the sensation of stepping into a parallel, alternative European history marked by martial rhythms, ceremonial intensity, and cinematic tension.

Russian based Confluence steps up for for Avoidant’s 5th release, dropping the electro soaked,
Shed. Having focused mainly on his techno output for sometime, he breaks his mould with this
excellently produced, intense 3 track EP.
Title track Shed opens the EP with a straight up, funked out electro beat that is torn asunder by
a huge and emphatic baseline that is designed to obliterate any dance floor. We Are keeps the
groove flowing as a more evolving and mutating hook delivers a more ominous and foreboding
track. Canyon Of Time closes the EP on a deeper, break-y tip as his use of a varied sonic
palette shows his flexibility as a producer
