RBR, what is it ?
Founded by @daiguana & @dokomodo Reptilian Business Records aims to be an independent label of hybrid music, with the goal of promoting the fusion of electronic rhythms, organic samples and traditional instruments, through the vision of local and international artists of all kinds. From tribal house to dubstep UK, from psychedelic cumbia to dark disco, from slow trance to indie dance, everything that purrs and reflects its scales, which squeaks and waves at the same time: reptilian music.

About the VA "GECKO BLASTER"
This VA puts the spotlight on 8 countries, represented by twenty artists from radically different scenes, from the Parisian organic underground to the dubstep soundsystem scene of Brooklyn, to the downtempo and schnekno of Berlin and Frankfurt, Swiss lo-fi , Japanese experimental, or slow house drawn from Brazilian forests, not to mention the participation of locals from the french southwest who offer organic jungle, slowed dark electro or tribal slow trance... A musical diversity which has a common denominator love for psychedelia, distortion, depth of bass and sharp rhythms like the claws of an arboreal monitor lizard.

About the track
Barbarella is the mind behind Pauken & Trompeten, a great multicultural electronic music party organizer in Germany. She is also an accomplished DJ and forward thinking producer. For the occasion she composed for us a piece melting latin roots and riddims with deep smiley synths and trance-infused melodies into one downtempo track only she knows the fabrication secret.

Premiere | Barbarella | Kartoffelstampf [Reptilian Business records]

The Magic Movement kicks off 2022 with a collaborative EP from Argentina’s Guuse and Berlin's Magic Jams, entitled ‘If It Were For Us’ and featuring remixes from Benjamin Fröhlich, The Oddness, and RSS Disco.

Here to open 2022 the imprint delivers a collaborative project between Guuse (@gustavo-cropanise), a multi-instrumentalist and composer based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Magic Jams (@magicjams), the new Disco leaning project of label head Noema, an artist living between Berlin and Istanbul who’s been DJing, producing and collecting music since 1997.

Up on remix duty, Hamburg trio and Mireia Records founders RSS Disco (@rss) deliver their ‘Scirocco Mix’ of ‘I Am The Desert’ next, opting for gritty, saturated guitars, loose, organic drums, and tripped-out fragments of the original’s vocals.

Nelson Bell is not only a good friend of us, but also an amazing producer, who has finally finished his debut album “Reveries” which we now have the honour of delivering to your replay devices.
In his own words he describes it as the fruiting body of a mushroom, who’s mycelium has stretched far and wide and connected many places and organisms until it came out of the ground to release its spores.
