[BIRDFEED EXCLUSIVE]  We received this demo of Steady Rock from Bruno Furlan, who emailed us excited about a brand new artist he recently discovered and knew we would too. Claude tested it out the biggest way possible—by opening his set at Dirtybird Campout West Coast with it. 

Steady Rock just so happened to be at the festival and heard his track being played, and the next day he ran into Claude at one of the many Campout activities and told him that was his song. Claude signed it right there, and now here it is for you.

And that is how things happen sometime.

In the past 12 years, Claude Vonstroke’s imprint has grown to three labels (Dirtybird, Dirtybird Select, STX&BRX), a publisher (Ponies & Cavemen), an event and touring company, and a subscription service (Birdfeed). As of this year, they have expanded their west coast Campout to the east coast, with Dirtybird Campout East taking flight in St. Petersburg, Florida, February 2–4. Inevitably as Dirtybird grew and innovated, a few projects fell by the wayside, like its techno label, Mothership. It has been, however, an enviously positive trajectory that seems likely to continue in 2018.

We believe Lucati is a name you'll be hearing a lot of in the coming months... and years. With true house music ethics at his core, the LA based producer and DJ has been releasing in tandem, alongside his brother Dateless, throughout 2017 on respected imprints like Dirtybird, Confession and Toolroom. More recently he's turned out unaccompanied solos as November and December 2017 found him appearing on the rosters of Box Of Cats and OKNF. Then in January 2018, a 3-tracker on Dirtybird's Birdfeed titled the 'Whistling Duck EP.' We were presented quite a few demos and picked our favorite 4 from the bunch. It wasn't easy as they were all very good. This is pure Tech House in our eyes with driving basslines and funky percussion leading the way from start to finish; The kind of music Perfect Driver was founded on in 2012. We would like to be the first independent dance music record label and musical artist collective to take our show on the road. 

Literally. 

With help from supporters, label-head Matthew Anthony will be customizing a Sprinter Van to pick up artists in one city to play shows in the next while remote operating the label in an ongoing Perfect Driver tour.

Our goal is to give Perfect Driver artists and fans a one of a kind experience. A #VanLife styled road trip where the DJ plays shows in big cities, small towns and everywhere in between, all while producing music in a mobile recording studio. 

Picture the Perfect Driver high-top Sprinter Van at a local art show or skate park with artists performing from the back. Or our #DJsAndCooking web-series broadcasting live from festivals and imagine pit stops, hiking in National Parks while documenting artist & industry conversations on YouTube or Patreon for subscribers. 

Our plan includes playing quarterly shows in major markets.

If you're a Perfect Driver artist, we want to bring you on the road. If you're a show promoter or venue, we want to talk about working together. If you're in the media, we want you to help us get the word out. If you're a dance music fan or in the industry, we're asking for donations and partnering with sponsors. As we strive to meet our goal by fall 2019, we'll be happy to hook you up with goodies in return. Your support will help give well-deserving, talented artists an opportunity of a lifetime; traveling and performing while making music on the road.
