Skate — Don’t listen to the anger-junkie. Look under your feet—see that part of the plane? Weirdly convenient. . .A little too convenient, actually. Let’s treat this like a puzzle, hm?


War [Horrible: Success] — Why are you even thinking about this?

Puzzle not puzzle. It's a robot, and you are made of -- burning-fucking-magic-fire -- Bullets are nothing to you. Not to mention, the robot itself is barely standing on its own feet, one jab and it's gone. The only puzzle here is why you're hesitating. 


Skate [Decent: Success] — You're confident, huh? The bullet could be made of magic. And we better not test it. We distract the robot. Use the rod


From the brief glance before the shot you've caught that it doesn't have any motion censors. Perhaps it uses sound to move? Throwing it in the ocean for a chance of it following doesn't sound. . . *that* unlikely. Hm. . . I need to think about this more.


War [Horrible: Success] — Or you just hurl it at its face.

Bam! There's a distraction

After a brief arc through the air, the rod splashes into the sea. The robot, stuttering, aims at the source. It shuffles closer, until- " ZAP! CO-CO-CODE: RE E E E. . . OFF PROTOTO TO COL. . .HURTSHURTSHUR-" It turns off. 


Skate — That… That didn’t feel right. The robot… could feel. It hurt, Sto. It *hurt*

Skate — No, no. I'm not. . . *Angry*. You didn't really know. I get it. Next robot - different approach, okay? We now know more, and that's good. 


I breath out and walk right.

There’s a tiny rock in the middle of the path.

Just… lying there.

Blocking the way forward.


War [Terrible: Success] — Pfft. So what? What’s a pathetic little ROCK gonna do to YOU, huh? You're a walking campfire of POWER! Show it who's boss—KICK IT! Nature messed up putting THIS “defender” in front of YOU!


Skate [Horrible: Success] — Or… just move it with your hand?. . . Like a *normal* person?


War — “Normal?” BOLD of you to say that to THE STO. I doubt EVERYONE has two disembodied voices -- fused with their body -- helping them. At least, not this loudly. We are THE-CAMPFIRE-OF-POWER. Not some beige-flavored monster in a side quest.


And let’s be honest—being “normal” is creepier than anything else. If you see someone acting "normal" that's a crazy person.


Everyone's got their something. And that *something* makes them special.

Skate [Horrible: Success] — Wire after wire, hole after hole. You keep staring down. The hunch stays strong with you. The earth is marked by scars, long healed but never forgotten. Metal tubes. Crushed machines. Empty shells. And then—something else. Something that catches your attention 

Glass.


War — Really? Of all things, you're stopping for glass? The battles are over. The sky’s gone. The glass has been shattered long ago. And you’re here, gawking at the floor like some lost pigeon? Just keep moving, while also looking-


Skate — No. Wait. Look at it. *Really* look at it. Among all this metal, all this wreckage—that's what shines. Broken. Curved. But still reflecting. And inside it… a shape. A green block, waving in the air. Like it’s saying hi. 

It's. . . Beautiful. Glass is fragile by nature, yet it doesn't lose it's basic function after being broken. No matter how broken, there will still be a reflection to greet back. While it is not natural, it was *made* with purpose. There's something profound in that.

DETOURNEY is an Undertale AU based on and set in an alternate timeline of Escape from the Dark World in which the tournament never continued past WR2.

Lancer begins to have second thoughts about humoring the Lightners, and calls off the tournament. With no hope of them returning to their home worlds, they spread out across the Dark World and find a place to call their own. Barney has a premonition of what will happen if this imbalance between light and dark persists, and brings it upon himself to get the gang back together.

Lancer is the Asgore replacement. With Barney determined to get himself and the other Lightners back to their original worlds, Lancer has no choice but to fight to keep his world from shutting off again, and to keep his friends by his side.
