London-based pair Jack Rollo and Elaine Tierney aka Time is Away are continually exploring the relationship between time, place and power. They do so in a wide variety of ways from exhibitions for the Arts Council England to site-specific sound works, research projects to their nearly 10-year-strong NTS show. Each one weaves spoken word pieces with atmospheric music into soundscapes that physically and mentally move you. 

The pair's exceptional record collection and ability to manipulate your mood are laid bare once more in this week's mix. It's an escapist daydream where gently lilting rhythms melt away into psychedelic dub with intimate vocal whispers. Indian meditations captivate the heart and mind while lo-fi guitar fuzz lulls you into a hypnagogic state. It's a delicate but powerful world of sound that reveals more and has an ever-deeper impact each time you listen.

Intergalactic Gary is one of our favorite selectors, as his gift is to transcend the boundaries of genre. For this set, you can feel his inspiration as he plays his favorite music from far and beyond to close the ultra heady indoor room of An Interdimensional New Years 2022 at Marble Bar, directly after a mesmerizing set from Mozhgan & Solar. What we got was one of the finest sets anyone could ask for and the perfect way to bring in the transformational energy of the new year. We loved this set so much that we immediately had Jim Gibbons master it for the podcast release. 

Hailing from the Dutch West Coast scene, he is a denizen of IFM, and a Viewlexx veteran with an array of releases ranging from his own solo work to collaborations with I-F (The Parallax Corporation, The Conservatives). His focus on the decks is so deep and illuminated that he makes bridging many disparate genres and styles seem effortless. He easily places disco, early Detroit techno, acid, electro, house, techno and even further into a deeply hypnotic and compelling whole, taking your mind and body on a journey beyond the stars. A legendary set from a true cult hero.

Phuong – Dan has been a resident at Hamburg’s Golden Pudel club for nearly two decades – it has become a space synonymous with off piste and leftfield dance music acting as a home for exploratory DJ’s to broaden the expectations of dancers.

Phuong – Dan has been a pivotal part of the evolution of the club, hosting his party Gatto Musculoso since 2006.

As a DJ his sound is diverse, drawing upon a wild array of influences and nuances as he seeks to create abstract experiences through music.

Working on a project by project basis, with a particular focus on artistic integrity, Phuong – Dan has become one of the most interesting artists working in this space. As the founder of dispari, a multi disciplinary record label and platform he has released music and works by the likes of Gavsborg, Cloud Management, Anatolian Weapons, Hector Zazou, Laurie Anderson, Florian Bräunlich and Sven-Åke Johansson.

This mixtape is a wild trip, spanning a variety of sounds.

With a selection of deep and chugging bass, house and techno this is a mix that equally see itself lending its ears to the home listener as well as the club dancefloor frequenters. Its this diverse sound that has seen Ciel take the helms of some of the greatest clubs, festivals, radio shows and podcasts as well as releasing solid records on labels like Mister Saturday Night, Peach Discs, Coastal Haze and more her sound is truly solidified through these outputs.
