Cette pièce représente mon travail de cette année 2024/2025 en classe d’orchestration au Conservatoire d’Avignon. J’ai eu la chance, j’en remercie mon Professeur Grégoire Rolland, d’avoir pu jumeler le travail d'orchestration avec une composition. Nous avons donc travailler ensemble toute l’année sur ces deux axes. (Par ailleurs, Grégoire a été mon professeur de composition pendant 3 ans).  

Cet hommage à Pierre Boulez survient au regard du 100ème anniversaire de sa naissance (26 mars 1925) qui a donc eu lieu cette année.

Le mode opératoire a été le suivant : 
J’ai associé à des lettres toutes les notes de la gamme chromatique sur 3 octaves. 
Ainsi, j’ai combiné 2 fois le nom de Boulez, puis pour chacun j’ai pris le rétrograde et l’inverse du rétrograde.

Cela m’a fait 6 « thèmes ou séries ». 

Toutefois, on est loin du style de Boulez ! 

En effet,  je sors ici du cadre strict du dodécaphonisme et du sérialisme. 

Pas de musique tonale ou modale non plus, on peut donc qualifier le style de la pièce d’atonal libre. 

Au départ je voulais faire un menuet qui s’est transformé en pièce orchestrale et c’est pour cette raison que la signature rythmique est restée immuable en 3/4 

La partie 1 est l’exposé des deux « Boulez », la partie 2  l’inverse du rétrograde d’un des deux, la partie 3 et 4 les deux rétrogrades, la partie 5 (illustration) le deuxième inverse du rétrograde en mouvement perpétuel (canon) avec au dessus la réexposition de tous les thèmes (avec superposition des deux Boulez tout à la fin).

Ceci est une version réalisée dans MuseScore, je n’ai malheureusement pas le temps de l’exporter dans Logic Pro

Pièce composée en 2023 dans le cadre du conservatoire d'Avignon en classe de Composition 
sur un projet autour de Musica Ricerccata de György Ligeti.
La pièce est écrite d'après Musica Ricercatta n°2 .
Elle laisse libre cours à l'imagination de l'auditeur. 
A l'exemple de Ligeti, trois notes ont été utilisées. Ici, d'un intervalle de tierce majeure chacune.  
L'écriture variée permet d'entendre la virtuosité du musicien et d'explorer tous les modes de jeux disponibles sur l'instrument.

Pièce composée en 2024 dans le cadre du conservatoire d'Avignon en classe de Composition sur un projet autour d'Olivier Messiaen.
Cette pièce est écrite avec le mode 2 d'Olivier Messiaen. L’inspiration principale a été le chant des oiseaux que Messiaen a étudié longuement et dont il s"'est servi pour composer nombre d’œuvres notamment le Quatuor pour la fin des temps.
Dans Flamant Rose, j'ai mis en avant une des particularités de ces chants d'oiseaux qui sont cette alternance de motifs suivis de notes répétées.
Le titre Flamant Rose m'est venu en réécoutant l'album Wish You Were Here du groue Pink Floyd (j'ai longtemps cru que Flamant Rose était la traduction du mot Pink Floyd). 
En composant le motif du début de la pièce, celui-ci m'a très vite fait penser au motif d'introduction de la partie II du morceau Shine On You Crazy Diamond. 
Je suis donc parti de cet élément pour élaborer l'oeuvre.

C — the Roman numeral for 100.
A complete measure.
A fixed frame.

C Fragments exists within this order as a sequence of fragments.
Not as a narrative, not as development,
but as a state.

The Roman reference does not stand for power or grandeur,
but for measure, structure, and timelessness.
The fragments remain contained within a closed whole
whose meaning is left open.

Sonically, the piece combines a restrained grand piano
with deep strings, sustained orchestral layers,
subtle percussive elements,
textural sound layers,
and distant choral surfaces.

A very subtly blended female vocal texture from ACE Studio
was added as an additional sonic element —
not as a lead voice and not as a replacement for a real singer,
but purely as a tonal presence within the overall structure.

C — die römische Zahl für 100.
Ein vollständiges Maß.
Ein festgelegter Rahmen.

C Fragments bewegt sich innerhalb dieser Ordnung in Bruchstücken.
Nicht als Erzählung, nicht als Entwicklung,
sondern als Zustand.

Das Römische steht hier nicht für Macht oder Pathos,
sondern für Maß, Struktur und Zeitlosigkeit.
Die Fragmente existieren innerhalb eines geschlossenen Ganzen,
dessen Bedeutung offen bleibt.

Klanglich vereint das Stück ein zurückgenommenes Grand Piano
mit tiefen Streichern, orchestralen Sustains, texturalen Schichten,
dezenten perkussiven Elementen
und weit entfernten Chorflächen.

Eine sehr dezent eingesetzte weibliche Stimmtextur aus ACE Studio
wurde ergänzend hinzugefügt – nicht als Gesang,
sondern als subtile klangliche Präsenz innerhalb der Gesamtstruktur.
