Over the Mountains is Segue's second full length release with Silent Season, the long time coming follow up to 2013's Pacifica. In a similar vein to Pacifica, Over the Mountains transports the listener to a different place and time, somewhere deep under a forest canopy on an unknown path leading to a majestic mountain vista somewhere above the clouds. The only thing keeping you going is knowing that things will only get better, because you never know what's waiting over the next hill. Like an all day adventure through the Canadian Rockies, the album hits many highs and lows, driving forward at a relentless, hypnotic pace that lures you into a timeless sense of space. Once again Segue delivers a collection of long ambient-dub tracks that are filled with just the right amount of melody to provoke the mind of a focused listener, or to provide a serene atmosphere to fill any space.

This is the first ever release from Meditation Tunnel, the new electronic music project from former The Rapture frontman, Luke Jenner.

Luke shares a room in Joakim's studio in Brooklyn and they have been working together on Luke's upcoming solo material. Besides writing music for his solo project, Luke has started making house and techno tunes under the name Meditation Tunnel as well as collaborating on a side-project with Dj Tennis from Life & Death.

Flowers From The Ashes is the latest multi-artist project to bear the acclaimed Stroboscopic Artefacts imprimatur. There is a sensibility of decadence and corroded grandeur etched within its four album sides, reminding us that historically “decadent” times have nonetheless resulted in some of the boldest acts of individual and collective creativity. Like the “floral” theme that has remained a consistent feature of S.A.’s graphic presentation, the music here equally presents fragility and intensity in a way that really drives home this visual metaphor for good, while still holding out the promise that similar creations will be seeded in the near future.

Though many of the artists involved have set of residence outside of their native Italy, all contribute here to make a captivating portrait of a shared spirit and cultural memory. The album opens with ‘Errori’, deceptively fragile sonic ornaments crafted and suspended in space by Blackest Ever Black artist Silvia Kastel. This is followed closely by the mellifluous, warming glow of percussionist and FLOAT artist Andrea Belfi’s ‘Spitting & Skytouching’, and then by the resolute electric bass patterns and luminous fog of ‘Lux et Sonus’, from Eeri label head Marco Shuttle. Hospital Productions alumnus Ninos du Brasil open the B-side with a similarly dense, amorphous construction built from tribalistic chants and rhythmic patterns, to be followed by Mannequin label boss Alessandro Adriani’s ‘You Will Not Be There For The End’, showcasing his distinctive take on the “paranoiac breakdance” aesthetic of classic EBM. S.A. veteran Chevel rounds out the first record in the program by interlacing several percolating synth lines together into a richly conversational piece.

The journey continues with ‘Starving The Mind’, an undulating mini-epic from S.A. founder Lucy that is animated by his signature balance of seductiveness and concentration. The bright, biting acid synth tones of ‘PRV-HH3-X’, by Lory D, then takes a sharp right turn into an invisible metropolis ruled by reflective high fashion and hidden intrigue. The imposing architecture of ‘Virgo Rebellion’, designed by modular synth futurist Caterina Barbieri, acts as an excellent companion piece, and sets up the closing ‘4G’ from Spazio Disponibile co-founder Neel – a crepuscular serenade that accurately sums up much of the foregoing activity.

It has been two years since the first compilation on the Various Artists series (PEVA) of Pi Electronics and the concept has stayed true to its aim: to present a coherent selection of the label’s favourite collaborators from the roster and parties over the years. Bringing together Greek and international artists, this compilation opens with a 10 minute recording by the combined forces of Orphx and JK Flesh (Justin Broadrick), from a live performance recorded in Amsterdam. Meanwhile we also showcase the resurfacing of Vofa, the joint project of producers Sawf and ANFS. There is a variety of options in this 13 tracks release; from the raw and harsh textures of An-i and New Frames, to Lycurgus live drum set recordings, Kondaktor’s African percussive electronics and Sarin’s EBM infused techno. Some more techno interpretations, such as the hypnotic moods of Stave and Fragedis, or the more punchy sounds of Restive Plaggona and Poison Green. These shape the full picture of this second Pi Electronics compilation titled ‘Divide & Rule’.

"The label's first release seeks to offer an initiatory experience to Forbidden Teaching's mission, namely to express the inexpressible.
The A side of the record is body oriented and is introduced with NN's "The Blood Of A White Monark", a track characterised by its forceful rhythm, cinematic breakdown and strong synths. Mind I Matter dives deeper in the EBM spectrum with "Thelema", a track featuring a
bassline that goes straight to the body and supported by an expertly crafted atmosphere, reminiscent of the notorious esoteric doctrine.
The B side of the record is soul oriented and begins with Antechamber's "The Ephemeral Hallucinations", an atmospheric track that elevates the listener to a place where earthly senses

Status: Currently working on some tracks that were laying on the CF card of the MPC 2500, some old downtempo stuff that I'm revisiting, working on the mixing and a few mastering tests, sounding good so far. The reality is that I have tons of unreleased tracks, like 3 albums ready to go, I will find the moment to look on those too if time allows.
