Attention music lovers ! This is an ultra ultra special mix, since it is the long-awaited islas Basic Moves podcast. Ailsa Cavers aka islas and I started and ran the record label and club nights together for the first four years. As time takes things and things take time (and life rolls on (and off) and on) our paths have brought us back to sharing friendship, culture, and music again :)

islas also Ailsa is a creative centipede roaming the fields of art, design, music, literature and so much more. Originally from Reading (UK) but relocated to Bordeaux (FR) in the early 2000s where she studied at Ecole Des Beaux Arts before landing in what is now her hometown, Brussels (BE). Together with a bunch of like-minded souls she started the electronic music collective Planet, ran a music pop-up called OP-a with her bff Dana Kuehr…overall islas is a busy, gifted artistic bee that never stings.

Sooo to the music: 2 years in the making, this mix is a story of carefully selected, funny and open-minded club music dug up in the garden of electro house, quirky tech house, Detroit techno, and millennium minimal. All with an islas twist and topped with an English, French and Belgian sauce. Praise the lovely, steezy Ailsa alias islas forever !

Dea is a Berlin-based DJ and producer with roots in Slovenia. With a foundation in classical music and a path that has taken her from Ibiza to Ljubljana and finally Berlin, her sound is as global as it is refined. Her sets are known for their precision, depth, and emotional clarity—thoughtfully curated journeys that speak to both the body and the mind.
Whether performing solo, as part of the duo ERIS, or the collective Bad Flatmates, Dea explores the dynamic tension between structure and spontaneity in electronic music. Her work bridges genres and moods, weaving intricate narratives through rhythm and sound.
This recording captures Dea live at Karmakoma Club in Belgrade—an intimate glimpse into her world of immersive, boundary-pushing sound.

You may even be familiar with his side projects as Uretran, Blacknecks, Retail & Leisure, Forward Strategy Group  which share the gritty funk the Agent is loved for. As much as Bleaching Agent's productions are spectacular in their own right, his DJing also stands up to the task. His self-released Soundcloud mixes have become a slight obsession here at Watch the Hype, with Bleaching Agent's selection shining through every blend. He also played Unpolished recently, performing a gabber set to its audience. The whole set is on Soundcloud and it's mind-bending to say the least.
