Lisbon's Apple B brings a touch of magic to his musical pursuits. The DJ, label boss and self-proclaimed wizard set up camp in the Portuguese capital a few years ago and has since made major moves with his Magic Carpet imprint.

Run with old friend Hazr, the label has become a space for cosmic electronic sounds from artists like Ramu, Planar Traits and Baby Rollen, and more recently they've set up a mix series alongside it which boasts mixes from Patrisha, Mother Earth and Giulia Pezzulo.

Alongside his fellow Magic Carpet crew he's also masterminded a brand new intimate festival called Beginnings on Portuguese soil. The first two events took place in Evora over the summer with a third in the pipeline next year. A small crowd, great sound system and a ton of dancing. What more could you want?

He's at the controls for this week's Shine A Light On mix, navigating everything from pumping house and acid to electro and breaks over a two hour trip. Don your wizard hat and get your magic carpet at the ready...

It has been about 10 years since F.R.E.D.Y.  he has been managing the La Room Club project as a resident dj.  His professionalism and perfectionism have led him to step on the best clubs in Spain such as Space Ibiza, Barraca, elrow or Florida 135. His taste for deep and textured sounds make him a versatile and label-free artist, who elegantly adapts the session  to each situation and state of mind, generating the first movements of the public.  As a producer he is committed to an underground deep house sound in which he is very reminiscent of his sets and for which he has received support from artists such as Joseph Capriati, Mihai Popoviciu, Blondish, Vanilla Ace, Beatamines, Sascha Sonido.

Caracterizado por ser dj residente, la trayectoria de F.R.E.D.Y. esta en un punto álgido y de total plenitud. Gran culpable del resurgimiento de la escena clubber en la zona norte de Castellón y con un potencial palpable, demuestra que nos encontramos ante un artista a tener muy en cuenta.
Ha realizado warm up a artistas de primera linea, siendo estos muy bien valorados y reconocidos dentro de la escena electronica actual. Su seriedad y perfeccionismo le llevan a pisar los clubs mas reputados de nuestro país como son Barraca, Florida 135, ElRow o City Hall. 
Ha compartido cabina con artistas de la talla de Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Chrstian Smith, Marc Antona, Fatima Hajji, Dj Murphy, Sebastien Leger, Uto Karem o Julien Chaptal.
Su set posterior a Dj Murphy en Sinapsis Festival, el warm up a Edu Imbernon en la main room de Florida 135 o la apertura del “Circo” precendiendo a Laura Jones, Matador y Paul Ritch en Barraca, son claros ejemplos de que F.R.E.D.Y. se perfila como uno de los artistas emergentes de la electronica en nuestro país.

John’s first contact with music was when he discovered his father’s abandoned turntable in the house’s storage. He started listening his father’s record collection, based in Soul, Disco and Funk.
In his early high school years, he realised he has a passion for underground music and started with gigs in North Greece till recently where he moved to London. 
John Dimakis aka D’Jones now continues his thousand miles music journey in London’s vast music scene. His sound is influenced from emotive dreamscape House, Hypnotic Deep House and Heady Techno.
