AVIVX's musical path has taken him from Kazakstan to Tokyo and Tbilisi. The DJ and producer moved to the Japanese capital at the age of 21 to hone his craft at Red Bull Music Academy. After finishing, he found himself drawn to the magical city of Tbilisi - a haven for nightlife and musical activity. 

The music he plays and makes serve different purposes but they're both imbued with a sense of freedom. His DJ sets are designed to make your body move, he paints a colourful, uplifting tapestry of sounds from Chicago house and Dutch trance to Belgian new beat and Italo disco.

Conversely he describes his productions as "cerebral and conceptual" and more intended for home listening than the club, though listening to his debut EP we could imagine all of these tearing up a dance floor. Out on Rotterdam's Electronic Emergencies Dark Temple is packed with dynamic and infectious melodies that are guided by the sounds that inspire his DJ activities.

On top of his debut vinyl release, there's talk of a new queer party in Tbilisi that AVIVX will be helming so to celebrate both of these, we asked him to record a mix for us so you could get to know him that little bit better. Just as we expected it's vibrant and colourful, packed full of vocal house jams, bouncy acid cuts and sassy grooves to get you weekend-ready. Yes it may only be Tuesday but what of it...

NYC-based producer, DJ and label-head Farren Laen delivers the next installment of the art:cast series or a conglomeration of (own) productions paired with pieces that complement and enhance the set's tone and vibe. Hitting the dark dance spot the New Yorker builds up his set like typical old red brick buildings in the city: stone after stone resulting in a memory lane of the future. Just like in his own music Farren Laen comes up with a vibe that is short of becoming possessive luring one into its atmospheric vortex as the space-out sequences almost have a meditative touch, while latter is left behind shortly before dancers/ listeners drift away in their very own thought bubbles and Farren presses the "House kick-drum" to continue his cat-and-mouse game, a game he seemingly not only plays well but has perfected. Otherwise it's hard to explain how someone can come up with such a beauty of sound-waves within only 67 minutes.

Irishman in Glasgow Peter Lawlor, better known under his artist name Polytunnel, just had his trend-setting single Outer Earth out on Made Magnetic, which came with remixes from artists like Denham Audio, Lighght and Jellypelt, and is not only a musical follow-up of previous releases but foremost the consolidation of the artist's status of "one to watch in the present and future." A status that was caused by previous releases on Seven Sign Recordings and Childsplay in 2022 respectively in 2019. Now Peter delivers the latest episode of the art:cast series and, of course, does not disappoint as he created a conglomerate of tracks that smoothly intertwine and keep the tension growing.
