His unpredictable DJ Sets that can go from Soul, Disco, Funk to House and Techno without forgetting some influences of Rock, Jazz, Hip Hop and Brazilian Music. With a long coexistence in music, inside his studio Marcelo accumulates samples of daily works, totally hidden from the eyes of the world. For About Disco Records, he was one of the only to release singles, releasing "Calma e Makeba Disco" between 2015 and 2016. Afro acid rhythm "Aboki", with no release or record label is a trophy among his works.

Pick pick…pick pick… ein kleines plüschiges Wesen kämpft sich aus seinem Ei im eisigen Winter. Als es das erste kleine Loch in die Schale geschlagen hat, späht es mit seinem winzigen Auge durch den engen Spalt. Unser kleiner Freund konnte jedoch nichts sehen außer glitzerndes Weiß. Es musste schnell ein zweites Loch her, um mehr von der Umgebung außerhalb des mittlerweile zu klein gewordenen „tiny house`s“ zu erkunden. Doch auch durch das zweite Loch ist nur Weiß zu sehen. Leicht sauer piepst das kleine Küken und wendet all seine Kraft auf, um seinen Kopf durch die Schale zu drücken. Es stemmt und drückt sich gegen die Decke und mit einem Satz durchbricht es den Widerstand und auch die darüber liegende leichte Schneedecke. Es kneift die Augen zusammen, da es fürchterlich hell ist. Doch bald gewöhnt es sich an die Sonnenstrahlen und erblickt eine wunderschöne Winterlandschaft. 
Wow ist das schön hier, denkt sich unser kleines Pinguin Baby. Es fühlt sich jedoch schnell allein. Der Gedanke mobilisiert die letzten Kräfte des kleinen Rackers. Es springt aus dem Ei auf den Schnee und rutscht weg. Die Beinchen sind noch zu wackelig um das Plüschknäul zu halten und es stürzt vornüber. Unglücklicherweise ist unser Pinguinfreund an einem seichten Hang geschlüpft und purzelt jetzt selbigen hinunter. Dabei formt sich aus dem Küken bald ein Schneeball der immer größer wird und weiter unten sanft durch einen kleinen Strauch aufgehalten wird. Völlig erschöpft von diesem Abenteuer schläft unser flauschiger Entdecker ein.
Als das Küken wieder erwacht befindet es sich in einem Schlitten, der über die verschneiten Felder peitscht. Neben sich auf dem Fahrersitz erspäht es eine seltsam sympathisch dreinblickende Persönlichkeit. „Hallo ich bin Nicolas und habe dich am Straßenrand im Schnee gefunden. Ich dachte du könntest die Wärme meiner Decke hier im Schlitten gut gebrauchen. Zudem bin sehr froh endlich einen Mitreisenden auf meiner Tour gefunden zu haben“, sagte Nicolas. „Wenn du magst findest du im Handschuhfach lecker Plätzchen“, ergänzt er. Seit wann hat ein Schlitten ein Handschuhfach und hat er gerade Plätzchen gesagt? Denkt sich der Pinguin. Eilig reißt er die Verpackung auf und mampft zufrieden Zimtsterne und Vanille Kipferl.  Eingemummelt in der Decke und bedeckt von Krümeln freut sich der Pinguin, den für ihn heiligen Nicolas getroffen zu haben. Und seit dieser Zeit tourt der Pinguin glücklich mit seinem Retter durch die Clubs dieser Welt.

Rudra (/ˈrʊdrə/; Sanskrit: रुद्र) is a Rigvedic deity associated with wind or storm, Vayu and the hunt. One translation of the name is 'the roarer'. In the Rigveda, Rudra is praised as the 'mightiest of the mighty'. Rudra means "who eradicates problems from their roots". Depending upon the periodic situation, Rudra can mean 'the most severe roarer/howler' (could be a hurricane or tempest) or 'the most frightening one'. This name appears in the Shiva Sahasranama, and R. K. Śarmā notes that it is used as a name of Shiva often in later languages. The Shri Rudram hymn from the Yajurveda is dedicated to Rudra and is important in the Saivism sect. In Prathama anuvaka of Namakam (Taittiriya Samhita 4.5), Sri Rudram the 'mightiest of the mighty' Rudra, is revered as Sadasiva (means 'mighty shiva') and Mahadeva. Sadashiva, is the Supreme Being Lord Paramashiva in the Mantra marga Siddhanta sect of Shaivism. Also, the name siva is used plenty of times in the same Anuvaka for invoking Rudra.

Barnt is a producer and a DJ who is hard to place – one minute he’s making avant garde, experimental sounds on his co founded label Magazine, the next he’s making peak time trance on Kompakt. Perhaps this is what makes him so exciting, you never quite know what you are going to get.

Earlier this year Kompakt announced the release of a superb EP which had already been heard doing the rounds in the clubs, a big room trance inspired club track which had been destroying dancefloors all over. Of course it was Barnt.

The release was his first new material for several years, the pandemic has offered Barnt the time to reflect on his own direction and from the sounds of it left him longing for the nostalgia and big room sounds he grew up on in the 90’s.

The EP comes off the back of recent releases on the likes of Mule Musiq, Comeme, Hinge Finger and Holgen. However, it made perfect sense that his latest should feature on none other than the German powerhouse that is Kompakt.

We were delighted when Barnt agreed to record this mix for us, as one of our own personal favourites we can’t help but think that he’s done a wicked job.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (23rd October) We welcome Avalon Emerson in Hour 1 with an extended set, where the Berlin based US DJ, Producer and software developer delves into a quality selection featuring music from Peppermint Jam Allstars, Roland Clark, Paperclip People, New Order remixed by Kevin Saunderson, Demdike Stare and Italo Disco from Valerie Dore. She had this to say about her mix;
"I recorded it on one of the last hot and sunny Sundays on a Urei 1620LE, Bozure 201, Technics, borrowed CDJs, a filter and a TR8. Now that it's definitely sweater weather here in Neukölln, maybe some of that warm atmosphere comes off wherever people listen to it. This one's got a lot of personal favorites, unreleased treats, drum machine jamming, weirdo new and old things, etc. My last mixes have been live radio shows, which are fun and loose but more snapshots of what I'm playing at the time. This time around I tried to compose a mix while keeping its entirety in mind."
