An infectious groove is one of the most important elements to everything I purchase and play. Closed eyes, a swaying motion in the hips, a looseness of the shoulders, and a polyrhythmic shuffle to the feet - these are the signs that the audience has checked themselves out of the present and gone to nirvana. It would be a lie to say that I don’t gravitate towards the trance elements, the shuffling drums, and the structured basslines - 20yrs of my recordings that have been floating around the internet would prove that to be a paramount character of everything I present to the audience. So with this mix, I wanted to encapsulate all the wiggling and swerving that I encourage my crowd to have with this upbeat, tripping, energetic mix of vibes I’ve amassed over time. Time to get twisty with episode six of “The Arsonist & The Architect,” appropriately titled “Chicane.”

Gez Varley aka G-Man, a pioneer of electronic music and an ex member of legendary LFO brings us into the new year with 11th Digital Tsunami podcast. This producer needs no introduction, we think every self-respecting dj should know his massive track Quo Vadis which has sold over 500 000 copies. His debut album Kushti was released in 1996 under his G-Man moniker. In the same year Varley left LFO. He released many more records under his own imprint G Records as well as on the German labels Studio !K7, Force Inc., Music Works, Warp and Swim records.
In 1999 Varley moved to Germany where he later founded the label GMR Records. We are proud to be presenting a podcast from such a legend and see you in the new year, bigger, stronger, harder!

To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

We love a good bit of psych every once in a while so who better to provide us with a psych festival special mix than the excellent Black Devil Disco Club. With more years of experience getting his hands on music than the entire staff at R$N Towers has of putting up cabinets at home, Bernard Fevre knows exactly what he's doing when it comes to all sorts of musical goodness and this brand new mix is no exception. He was even kind enough to stop off and have a chat with us as well - you can give that a good read below.

The folks at Liverpool Psych Fest have also written this handy guide to the mix, which is nice;

"On this mix we step inside a few of Fevre's different cosmic disco iterations, with three remixed Black Devil tracks (by Kerrier District, Lee Zero and Turzi) sitting alongside two Bernard Fevre tracks, as well as a nod to the maestro's influence on popular music: The Chemical Brothers' 'Got Glint?', taken from their massive 1999 album 'Surrender', features a sample from Fevre's über rare 70s track 'Earthmessage'. LeBatman's 'Dating Do's' also features a Fevre sample, this time from 'Dali' on 'The Strange World Of Bernard Fevre'. Gems from Roxy Music, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Walter Murphy and The Big Apple Band show off the mix's shimmery disco flourishes, while the presence of Suicide and Zombie Zombie show Fevre's appreciation for a wider palette of sounds. The Beatles' lysergic backwards masterpiece 'Tomorrow Never Knows' gets a warping to close proceedings."
