Carr vibes off his own track ‘Arrival’ just as much as Bufo Bufo’s ‘Scrying Mirror’ or Iron Galaxy’s ‘Refining ‘Fire’, his steady melding of beats keeping the entire hour between the 120-130 bpm dancefloor-primed sweet spot.

Alfonso Pomeda is one of the finest underground artists from Madrid, not only in the Electronic music world, but as a person totally dedicated and involved in different music projects like his now online only record store “…Is The Place” or being the co-director of the spanish events Sonikas and CALMA. He also co-directs the labels Downbeat, Eleve and Memories on Wax and Alpenglühen which takes the ambient path.

As a DJ, he covers a great variety of styles like 4x4 electronics, experimental music, ambient, the more atmospheric horizontal Techno and American House.
Wise music artist with progressive, deep and long mix sessions, pretending to be trips and stories with a beginning and an end, with special attention to speech.

This month, Alfonso’s label Downbeat has a vinyl reléase in coming with music by one of his label parters Jose Rico.

They also run the record store Smallville in their hometown and take care of a record company of the same name, releasing house music full of references to the genres rich history. Scottish DJ and producer Nick Moore is Linkwood, someone who applies a master craftsmen and hugely artistic approach to everything he does. Because of this, he has a reputation for fantastically deep house that is magically ornamental, resplendent with atmospheric ambiance and littered with moving melody. He releases on local label Firecracker and its sub label Shevnchenko, and most recently offered up the tripled vinyl delights of his second album, Expressions. 

Now he is taking up the mantel on our podcast series and serves up just over an hour of sumptuous sound. Despite being a relatively short set, the Scot manages to cram a lot in, from dub techno to intergalactic deep house via spaced out jams and intricately melodic tech. Importantly, every record he reaches for bares all the hallmarks of that emotive Linkwood sound we all know and love, so stick it on and allow yourself to get lost at the hands of a real master.

Hailing from Melbourne, Alex Albrecht and Sean La'Brooy form a unique live act – one that’s often improvised and takes inspiration from the performances of the jazz greats. Inspired by a recent visit to Berlin and the organic techno sounds they encountered, their slow-building yet captivating contribution to our mix series is a fully improvised live set recorded in a single take.

Earlier this year a new project emerged from Amsterdam made up of a pair of familiar producers operating beneath a new guise. Darcey Electronics is made up of Darling and Tracey, two stellar musicians in their own right who have each released music in various capacities over many years. Collectively they have released music on the likes of Aus, Safe Trip, Dial, Intergraded, Off Minor and Voyage Direct.

They both live and breathe music and operate amidst a collective of inspiring Amsterdam producers who have established their own take on dance and electronic music - channeling influences from house, techno, ambient and IDM. It is the latter two genres which perhaps best informed the pairs first release under the collaborative moniker. Released on Pleasant Life earlier in 2020 the EP was well received and widely supported, showcasing abstract experimentation and playful melodic flurries which based upon the set below seems to be a hallmark of their taste and style.
