For our next trip Down The Stairs, we head down south to Birmingham and are supremely delighted to welcome Jayson Wynters (@jwynters) into the DTS fold.

Kicking off his musical endeavours as a garage MC around Birmingham in the late 90's, Jayson's tastes evolved over the years and he found support in the form of the legendary Mr G, who took on Jayson as part of the Phoenix G family with his 2016 EP, 'Unfamiliar Territories.' It was this, and 2 further releases on Don't Be Afraid (@dontbeafraid), that brought Jay to our attention here at 2Sox HQ. From then on, we have thoroughly enjoyed all his output; from other tracks to a plethora of flawless mixes.

We were chuffed when Jayson accepted the offer of heading DTS and even more chuffed when he delivered this quite perfect hour of deepness.

Audio-visual artist Tom Hall sits-down to chat about how he soldered the visual and sonic worlds together in the latest episode of InScape. From his time growing up in Australia to then heading out California way, Tom has always been trying to explore new possibilities of production. At his role in Cycling 74, responsible for programming language Max/MSP, Tom has been able to test and develop new methods and algorithms for creating sound and visuals that end up on huge stages all over the world. Tom has curated 2 hours of tunes from his diverse discography for this show and we couldn’t be more excited to get a nice snapshot of his career. We also got the chance to chat about what is the role of Ambient and why there is a necessity for silence in this often noisy world.

"See You Soon" - Ambient Mix XXIX - Benjamin Roeder

The man behind our latest Ransom Note Records release, over the last few years Belfast-born producer LOR AKA Lunar Orbit Rendezvous has shown he's equally comfortable dreaming up lush, vintage electro as he is soothing ambient soundscapes. 

His 'Faith/Reason' LP, which came out in June of this year, is an ambient tapestry that traverses the boundaries of space that we find during the twilight hours — "when the world stands still for a second and we're reminded of the fragility of the lives we inhabit."

The long player followed a string of previous releases on the likes of Cin Cin, Exit Strategy and Get Physical, as well as his acclaimed eponymous debut album: the inaugural release on his own LOREC label.

For today's Monday Is OK mix, he welcomes us into a fresh week with a collection of ambient influences and discoveries, harmonically mixed for optimum bliss.

I was kindly invited by Niclas Gillich aka @samsa_patterns to contribute a guest mix for the 43rd edition of Patterns Radio, which aired on Tuesday 28 September 2021 via Munich's @radio80000.

For the occasion, I recorded an all vinyl mix of abstract experimental electronics featuring music both new and old from @westmineral, @1djplead, @motion-ward, @acting-press, @kompakt and many more.
