Originally released on Aphex Twin’s seminal Rephlex imprint back in 1996 Bochum Welt's (the moniker of Italian artist Gianluigi Di Costanzo) classic analogue electro album "Module 2" is getting a revamp.

Module 2 became a cult classic over the years, with its timeless fusion of analogue electro and outer soundscapes it  journeyed through a spectrum of electronic possibilities in an entirely new frontier. From moody ambience to dark techno sensibilities, the reissue features five previously unheard tracks...

Swedish musician Moonilena has been a familiar face amidst underground circles for several years now having released poignant, emotive, sometimes dance focussed music on the likes of Belters and Studio Barmhus amongst others. In fact she actually recorded a mix for us previously.

However, around a month ago we were prompted to explore her new material by a good friend. Music which is removed from the club and explores the deeper, more pensive, fluid tendencies of her musical persona. Her new album ‘Minnet’ is forthcoming on Moloton and sees the Stockholm based audiology student focus more on the intricacies of sound design as she explores ambient textures across the LP.

So, this mix sits somewhere alongside that – an ode to the influences which have helped formulate a new musical perspective if you will.

The emergence of a new wave of European producers has led to the culmination of an enticing array of enchanting interpretations of dance focussed music. Pau Roca has been critically praised by the likes of Sonar for his involvement in the Barcelona house scene in which he is a hugely active member. As a journalist his ability to network and determine the variety amidst people has led him into exploring music from across the world.

He also runs two record labels in his spare time, Bons Records & Black Money Records. Both have been determined to showcase variety and have been involved in the reissue of exciting music lost amidst the passage of time. Bons Records for example recently re- released an EP from Joey Kay which had become notoriously hard to find.

The Catalan house maestro’s roots run deep in the city’s thriving nightlife having cut his teeth as resident DJ and booker for the club BeCool. Eager to share his passion for disco, boogie, and house he founded soundcloud.com/bons-records, soundcloud.com/black-money-barcelona, and together with his compatriot Gon runs the Libido party series at club Nitsa. For this mix he digs deep into his crates to show a soulful side of his record collection. Sunny house jams complete with sultry vocals, tribal tanginess, and some unreleased tracks by local heroes and the man himself.

Pau Roca has risen as the new “house master” of Barcelona, as described in a review of the Sónar festival.

He has been playing regularly at such festivals as Mutek, Sónar, Brunch In the Park, DGTL, and BAM. As head of  the vinyl-only Bons Records, he released records by likes of Doc L. Junior, Philou Louzolo, and Michael & Jackson. His sets run the gamut of musical history without any complexes or prejudices, paying homage to disco, boogie, and above all, American-influenced house music at his Libido parties at Nitsa Club. After 11 years, these parties have become truly mandatory for any lover of dance music in Barcelona, and has hosted Amp Fiddler, Dan Shake, Jovonn, and Jeremy Underground amongst many others. 

As a producer, Pau Roca had a surprise hit in 2016 with Garvey City, a track included in the first release of the enigmatic Black Money label. In 2018 he released a solo EP which includes four edits/reworks on Los Angeles’ Pleasure Of Love label.

"On this podcast I tried to mix some club focused releases that have been in and out of my record bag in the past months. As I love to do in my DJ sets, I’ve selected some records (mostly house music) that I’ve bought recently and also some old records that are equally incredible. You’ll find Sotofett doing what he does best, a nice pearl (and cheap record!) made by Osunlade, and also the Wheel one which is one of my all-time secret weapons.
