Midi fanfare orchestrator Novo Line is back on Protofuture with a blazing 12”. His album “Racconti” (a concept-album on cassette) gets reinterpreted by the artist’s confrères Eva Geist, Dama, Wilted Woman, Tyler Pope and Elena Colombi, one year after its original release.

Cosmic/electro/dub meets synthetic, pulsing patterns inspired by Novo Line's disorienting yet danceable polyrhythms in this varicolored E.P, which journeys across late night and early morning sounds.

Kindly mastered by Analogcut in Berlin, the music sees the contribution of Protofuture’s inmates Dj Fett Burger, Trent and Telephones on mixing and live percussion duties.

In favor of an alternative to reality. Compellingly haunted by itself. Like stone, that awaits a random molecular movement."

At the end of 2019, just before the world would be turned on its head by the Covid pandemic, Berlin-based label R.i.O shared their first various artists compilation Risks Issues Opportunities. Since then they've gifted us solo outings from the likes of Philipp Otterbach, Benedikt Frey and Tim Toh and Chris Imler, but now they're returning to the VA format for their first release of 2022. For the second iteration they welcome eight new artists, including Airaboi, Willie Burns, Bocksrucker and Twoonky, all of whom deliver abstract and intriguing electronic compositions that colour outside of the lines.

We believe reflection, contemplation, (some) stagnation and adaptation are our best ways to go through this situation.  Therefore, we have decided to move forward with our plan to release a little digital compilation to celebrate our 5th la- bel birthday. 5 tracks for 5 years.
To the task we have asked a couple of family members to contribute tracks as well as uncovered some secret ver- sions we've been playing out for quite some time now and felt it is the right time to release them. Flippen Disks follows up their much acclaimed label-debut with an intriguing second release by Yuto Takei named “Bells From The East EP”.
Yuto Takei’s first vinyl release displays a wide array of sounds with a particular interest in rhythmic experiments and the negotiation of sonic space.

The Tokyo-based producer and DJ takes the listener onto a trip through deep spheres, percussive workouts, jammy compositions and electronic psychedelia, leaving the listener at times startled as to whether it is humans that are manipulating machines, or vice-versa.

Having worked as an electronic music composer for video games such as Gran Tourismo, this uncanny valley is known territory for the artist. It is, however, further explored on this four tracker, staying true to Flippen Disks paradigm of releasing club-oriented music, non-functional enough to not only be danced but also listened to.

Title track Bells From The East is an 8 minute jam, in which a krauty psych attitude pairs up perfectly with the goofy lead melody.

For the very only release of 2020, Blue Night Jungle decided to go 100% DIY. Through a 100% hand-dubbed tape and 9 tracks, we decided to gather many of the artists that attracted our attention in the recent months - as with long-time friends from the BNJ Catalogue (shout out to Lyon’s Jibis and Vardae). As 2020 wanted to, the compilation goes out of the club and reunites various atmospheres and musics. Sci-Fi ambient with Smogo, cavernous D’nB from Vardae, Adhémar’s electronica, greek downtempo of Anatolian Weapons and acid reflexions with Jibis, DudMode and Boskøw : this is just a glimpse of what you’ll hear there.
