Will Hofbauer & Sangre Voss team up for ‘Steppe EP’ this June on Control Freak Recordings, featuring a remix from Discwoman’s Ciel. London-based Will Hofbauer and Sangre Voss, whose individual work has seen them appear on labels such as Rhythm Section and Will’s own Third Place imprint, team up for the first time on Control Freak Recordings for the wonky ‘Steppe EP’, picking up early support from Ben UFO, Bradley Zero, and more. Leading the release, ‘Pumice’ tumbles through rolling low end, crunchy percussion and an eerie breakdown for a high energy start to the A-side. ‘Flundra (Flundra Mix)’ follows with bubbling pads and speaker-rattling subs around a kick-less drop, leading into a shimmering breakdown. On the flip, ‘June-O’ sees the duo craft a low tempo slugger, peppered with tablas, bells and eagle samples around warped, loopy synthesis. Ciel’s remix of ‘June-O’ takes the B2 spot, adding stuttering percussion, vocal chops, and additional wildlife samples to the mixture to round out the release.

He'd never been superstitious before but recent events had led him to start questioning things; or "looking deeper" as he called it. Until now these occurrences had been dubbed as coincidences, as pure luck or chance - be that good or bad, though it predominantly ended up being the latter. Cursed was a strong word but that was what he'd resigned himself to believing.

It's been three years since Bristol stalwart Appleblim landed on fellow local imprint Sneaker Social Club. His 2018 LP 'Life In A Laser' also marks one of his last outings period, so we're pretty stoked to see him return with a second long player for the label - the first to be released via tape. On 'Infinite Hieroglyphics' Appleblim gives himself to the technology, flexing his singular production abilities through an expansive range of styles and sounds that pull from techno, electro and rave music.

Live recording from our set last weekend in Urban Spree in Berlin. So nice to play in front of a crowd and it was a pleasure to see so many old friends and making new ones on the dance floor! Even big man @fhionn swung by and played a few. Unfortunately I (Aidan) got a new recording device and the cables I got for it were a bit MEH but we've managed to salvage most of the set for listening back too! That was what it was really like to overthink - to be caught in a state of confusion and disarray, stuck ruminating of the weirdest and wildest fantasies unsure as to which might break the magnificence of the deep, dense cycle. For now he'd simply look from his window, gazing out at a world which carried on regardless...

Barcelona duo Sumluv are set to release a new EP, the pair have been reworked and reimagined by Otik, a special producer who has a unique capacity to deconstruct and rebuild material in a unique and innovative fashion. This latest reimagining is no exception and is due for release on Faneca Music.

The anticipation was almost too much to handle as they neared the derelict industrial estate. They'd almost forgotten this feeling after so long out of the game, but though it should have felt somewhat alien, the emotions soon came flooding back as the soft thud of a kick drum echoed nearby. How they'd missed it; the sense of freedom these spaces gave them couldn't be replicated. Nothing could come close. 

Zodiac Childs return to their own Zodiac Wax imprint for their debut album 'Atoms To Atoms', which comes split across a three piece vinyl package. Like much of their previous work, this long player is a homage to the pair's love of classic breaks and the UK's hardcore legacy, representing the past, present and future of their sound. Employing analogue synthesis and hardware they play with emotion and energy to produce a collection of tracks that transport the listener through 'the moods and feelings of a full night of rave experience'.

Everything ground to a holt that morning. This seemingly well-oiled machine was not all it was cracked up to be; people had already left in their droves, only a few remained in the hope that they'd be rewarded for their commitment, but they'd be waiting a long time. Nobody knew the root cause of this breakdown but it had been a longtime coming, there was only so much those who wielded power could get away with before a mass exodus would ensue.

Newly born label Terra Magica are kicking off proceedings with a release from the two head honchos: Munich-based producers and DJs Mirko Hecktor and Tom Sprenger. Under their Hektisch Sprengen guise, which in German means to blow up things in a very hectic manner, the pair are doing just the opposite sound-wise - the two tracks are slow analog jams that draw from an array of genres and places. The pair have invited four artists to remix the tracks too including our pick from Aussie producer DJ Chrysalis who puts a UK-G influenced spin on 'Dancing Dust'.
