As a natural progression from her prior singles on Public Possession the music has a very capturing energy, although essentially machine music every single sound on the record seems connected with mother earth. 
It’s rooted in the common ground that is home to all of us: the soil that nurtures flora & fauna, the air we breath, the water we drink, the sun & moon that shine upon our bodies.
One tribe, a million rituals, a common ground: The Dance (the Beat). Repetitive rhythms creating a sense of community & togetherness.

The walls were painted a myriad of beautiful colours, each shone and shimmered beneath the light which poured through the windows up above. The basilica was radiant and glowing in the light of the morning sun as the worshippers began to gather before the mighty old altar. A soft hum from the organ reverberated between the tall columns as whispers floated beneath the spires up above. This was a peaceful place, a heavenly temple of the great beyond. 

Chubby are set to release a killer compilation of house music destined to work wonders on sun kissed dancefloors and in dark, hazy rooms. This is house music as it should be, Ewan Jansen delights as per.

Next up on Lyssna Records is no other than Aspetuck from the great state of New York. He's a friend of the label and one of the hardest working producers around. We're immensely proud to be given the privilege to release his four track masterpiece "Lost the Key". The EP is full of swirling 303s, off kilter beats and synth laden soundscapes, ingredients we love here at Lyssna HQ. "Lost the Key" is slated for a Bandcamp exclusive release on the 3rd of September before it hits streaming services and other online boutiques a bit later.

This was it, the sequel, the evolution and a new beginning. It had been coming for a hellish long time and now as it came roaring into view it was enigmatic and grand. This was the start of a phase change and as he looked out from his apartment window overlooking the city and the people down below he knew that he might just be on to something very special indeed. The sun was setting over the towerblocks in the distance and the daylight would soon vanish from this magnificent place. 

Aspetuck is a producer who we've supported fondly over the years, an artist who has drawn upon elements of house and has emerged with his own unique and playful sound. This new EP is forthcoming on Lyssna.

When I realised that every word is just an extension of a previous that has met its end, it seemed inconceivable to me that anyone could ever reach a place where they felt content with language. That is to say language as an emotive driving force, language as a pendulum that swings between a predetermined pool of words, ones that morph in shape and sound but rarely in meaning. Naturally, this meant that every word also has its upper and lower limits, suspended like a tightrope between the factions of time. For example, the word ‘happy’ has a limited life span until it inevitably becomes ‘ecstatic’; ‘ecstatic’ only exists insofar until it transforms into ‘euphoric’. Imagine if we consistently reduced the ranges of these words until we only had a few to describe everything around us. Which would you choose?

Egyptian-Australian based producer and DJ Moktar is one of those artists for which language never suffices. Instead, his music requires spiritual and personal attention as you find yourself flooded with a wave of visceral emotion through the lens of leftfield techno and IDM. The same goes for his third musical offering, a self-titled EP coming via Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs.

Following his inaugural single 'Silk' and then 'Lemon' is no easy feat, but the emotionally-charged 'Drip' is ripe with warm pads and a quavering gentle high-synth line that highlights Moktar's versatility, not only as a producer but also as an artist. 'Drip' is imbued in the same sensibility as the rest of the EP, one which celebrates his Arabic heritage and culture after having spent years facing stereotyping and racism in so-called Australia. Defined by his beautifully crafted intersections between future club music and traditional Arabic instrumentation and sampling, Moktar represents an artist who has now reached a point where he feels comfortable moving around freely, physically and spiritually. 'Drip' is a welcome pause amongst the organised chaos of the rest of the high-energy EP. It is a call to reflect on the moods and feelings that he has so carefully embedded in the EP, and an invitation to follow your true self.

A place of peace had become nigh on impossible to find; there was too much chaos around and not enough time to spare. A moment for oneself had become a rarity, falling through the gaps between flurrys of emails and expanding workloads, clouded by relentless tasks and daily expectations. But it was a necessity — a moment of tranquility had to be the priority, self-care had to come first.

Berlin party, collective and label Radiant Love are seeing out a year we're all happy to see the back of with a release from Parisian DJ and producer E00, titled Peace & Tranquility. His hazy, dreamy output brings some lightness to the end of a dark year, helping us over the final hurdle and in to 2021. Across the four tracks, lush pads and airy atmospheres are married with rolling drum patterns and crisp percussion that meander through tempos but keep us floating in the air.
