Fired up on high energy Electrons, Timothy Clerkin’s imprint Insult To Injury (the label he runs with perennially on-point platform Ransom Note) is back with another arsenal of acid-tinged techno firearms. Manchester’s own Buran light the Bunsen burner & get things super-heated with their analogue heroics. Both tracks are borne from live jams, with minimal adjustment before going to press. 

Test phase completed, first out the blocks is Beta, employing a monster low end 303 and analogue percussion to create a menacing floor destroyer. This savage assault is quickly followed by Kincaid’s reimagining of the track – slowed down and, for want of a better phrase, like, totally dubbed out, maaaan. Electro collides with Space Echo for a truly unique experience. 

Particles is next, with some serious up-a-gear oomph; full on foot-stomping action, with relentlessly driven acidic bass that takes us back to a time when we could lose ourselves to a groove on the dance-floor. Peak time, rolling techno that demands you move your body. 

Finally, we wind up business with Earth Trax’s ferocious take on Particles. Stripping things back somewhat and highlighting the laser-focused sounds of the original, he’s created a space battle in electro-work-out format. Synth projectiles whizz by our ears before we’re ejected in the vacuum of space with a serene, synth-lead soundscape coda.

Pfirter’s lockstep drum patterns construct a hypnotic tale that reverberates with intense metallic synths into an expansive dark room sound with the Endless EP. Through My Window starts with hollow syncopated bass driven by steady kicks. The low end and tight rhythm causes the synth pads to gasp for air in Last Breath. The repetitive chord stabs through the discordant ambiences while the percussion rumbles on with Endless. Certain is an expansive techno track that churns with machine-like precision. The chaotic synths and modulated metallic sounds hold ground with the hard kicks in Release.

His finger hovered over the button hesitantly, his willingness to press it coming and going in waves. Once he hit it that was it, there was no going back, no beta mode to save him. The risk seemed to outweigh the return, and it would be on his shoulders, and his only, if there were any glitches. He knew he'd have to bite the bullet soon enough, but until then he'd let the anxiety gnaw away a little longer...

Our good friend Timothy Clerkin is back with another batch of acid-tinged bangers on his Insult To Injury imprint, run with our good selves, this time courtesy of Manchester-based producers Buran, with two remixes from Kincaid and Earth Trax. Spawned from several live jams, which have barely been edited before going to press, in typical ITI fashion the two originals pack a punch from the off, bringing together acid bass lines, rumbling low end and thumping kicks.
