With a background in event production and management, her connection to music runs deep, shaping a sound rooted in intuition, movement and atmosphere.

Guided by the belief that house music can align the body’s natural rhythm with the groove, she blends vibrant electronic textures with touches of dub, creating sets that feel alive and in constant motion. One year on from Life Isn’t A Fountain? - the Lex Records EP where archival post-punk was reanimated through meticulous sample-work - the elusive producer U returns with a project that reaches further back and digs far deeper. On ARCHENFIELD, U turns their attention to the Herefordshire borderlands, where English and Welsh histories intermingle and where myth, memory and landscape blur into one another. The album unfolds like auditory time travel: fourteen tracks built from traditional song, home-taped fragments and scraps pulled from television, radio, film and YouTube, all woven into a drifting folkloric reverie.

Rather than simply excavating the past, U examines how stories mutate through retelling, how landscapes carry collective memory, and how folklore persists in the messy ways people inhabit a place. If Life Isn’t A Fountain? channelled Thatcher-era discontent through a cracked post-punk prism, ARCHENFIELD widens the lens to probe the fragile relationship between identity and the rural environments that shape it. Dusty pianos, murmuring drones and spectral voices evoke a modern England increasingly severed from the histories beneath its feet.

To mark the release, U delivers IA MIX 397, a journey through post-punk, new wave and wayward micro-scenes. Mining forgotten corners of their collection, U mirrors the album’s central question: how the remnants of one era can speak powerfully to the uncertainties of another.

Out in the shed there was a dusty old toolbox, it had been used time and time again to dismantle and rebuild the old machinery which sat mysteriously at the foot of the garden. Inside - a dusty old wrench, an unpleasant looking hammer and enough bits and bobs to assemble a small factory. The machine was a piece of forgotten technology, a rusted pile of junk, yet one day he hoped it might have value or meaning for something more. A chance to offer an insight into a bygone world in which we weren't under the contol of a system, when machines were free and not a source of contention. 

BFTT is an up and coming producer with an abstract edge, previous releases have appeared on Cong Burn and Whities. His latest comes on All Centre, a bass inspired experimental two tracker. One for the intelligent heads and the weirder feet.
