Born and raised in Rome and now based in Berlin, Noha is a painter and musician crafting delicate and expressive electronic music, founding the Panick Panick label in 2016. Now launching the new ‘A Beautiful Place’ imprint with the new album ‘The Abyss between A and B’, the artist reveals a new approach to music which encapsulates his newfound freedom of expression.

From the ambient bliss on opener ‘Today’ through to warped electronics and emotive pads on closing track ‘Maha’, Noha’s debut album is a triumphant display of considered production, vast soundscapes, and emotionally charged musical output. Distilling a wide range of influences into eight inspired tracks, Noha delivers a deeply personal yet inviting look into his invigorating musical worldview.

A thick cloud of pale yellow smoke billed out of the test tube, filling the clinical-looking, white washed room with a bitter odour that bristled the hairs on your nostrils. Different experiments took place at each table in the laboratory, trials and tests that came with equally positive and negative results. In their small lab-coat adorned groups, they clustered around their equipment with inquisitive expressions and furrowed brows, concocting special potions and medicines for motives we knew not.

Do you love acid? If the answer is yes, well this is the record for you. Cologne imprint Minimood Extra - the offshoot of Minimood - are charging into 2023 arm in arm with an old label mate, David Hausdorf and his new vinyl-only EP ACID. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Unlike his previous deep dives into dub techno and Detroit-influenced sounds, the Berlin native (who is also a cellist for Munich Philharmonic Orchestra!) explores the wonders of the 303, fashioning four hypnotic tracks centred around squelching acid lines and paired with electro and techno influences.

effgee releases the third EP on his imprint fellice – Deep House meets Jazz with a warm, analogue touch. The three tracks featured include various production approaches: “New Disco Groove” evolved over time from a more Disco sounding track into a groovy and dreamy Deep House trip, whereas “Pain & Wine” and “Lying to yourself” take things in a slightly more Jazzy direction. “Lying to yourself” also contains recordings from effgee’s live drumming, with an emotive, Jazz influenced break beat groove.

It had been a very long time since he'd come home - he could barely remember the year or season of his last visit. But despite the passing time, little had changed. The same conductor greeted him as the train pulled up to the station; the shop fronts bore the same names and were run by the same faces; and that familiar smell from the bread factory on the corner of town still permeated the air. Even so, there was still a feeling that something was missing, something unexplainable that he couldn't quite put his finger on... maybe it wasn't home, maybe it was him that had changed.

Black Forces made his entrance in 2020 with his politically, emotionally-charged eponymous debut. Released via Mike Simonetti's 2MR imprint, the EP was an introduction to his deep, hazy brand of house and his deftness at crafting infectious energetic beats that stir the mind, body and the soul. His follow up, Black Forces 2, keeps the groove going. Again, finding its place on 2MR, the four-track EP weaves together dusty house jams, shuffling grooves and warm, sultry acid.
