It seems odd that we have to introduce the London mainstay and Lion & Lamb resident Mr Bobby Pleasure to the fold, but it is indeed his first solo outing and what an incredible record it is! 
Three originals that blur the boundaries between house and techno whilst maintaining a heavy dance-floor orientation, backed up with none other than a (very) special Craig Richards remix.

Mahé instantly reminded us of getting loose at 6/7am in Fabric Room 1, it’s a huge, growling techno masterpiece, definitely one for those mind-bending moments! 

Let Me Clear My Throat – no rascal trumpets to be found here! Instead Bobby serves us up something that wouldn’t look out of place on a early 2000s Perlon B-Side. Arpeggiated synths and rumbling subs are the flavour of the day, again topped by a twisted, weird & original vocal by the man himself.

On the flip we are really happy to welcome Fabric legend & Houghton curator, Craig Richards to Trouble Maker. His interpretation of “Elton & David” hits home with what you’d expect from the master of ceremonies. Stripped back, groove-ridden glitchy goodness. The follow up from “My Friend is Losing his Mind” a rare Craig Richards remix is always welcome! 

The original, written just days after last years Houghton Festival is just as tasty. Rattling groove-led drums & warping basslines round off this very unique and dance-floor ready debut EP from Bobby Pleasure.

Fully loaded rompers, drawing from influences both far and unexpected corners of the globe that have been proven to be tools for the floor. The Russian duo made their debut last year on Private Persons with their "Forever Punk" EP, leaving a heavy mark on lovers of tape-hissed electro, EBM madness, and acid-tinged worship. With their next release, Lomay EP, we see a continuation of that same energy, but with an even more broader approach; pushing the boundaries of what EBM, acid, and techno mean today.

09 - Voiski - The Room is Dark and Gloomy

In the latest release from Public System Recordings we are allowed a look further into the syrupy synth dripping slowed beatdown. Kluentah delivers a chalky electro smash with elongated snares and eerie chords passing from one end of the brain to the other, and to the floor. There is smooth vocal play as well as allowing for incoherent out of context speech samples that stab through minimal jumpy drum work. As diabolical and heavy as the hits and bass is, this enters the swath of dance floor records with a distinct flavor that sets itself above others' execution. Full of sludgy breaks, there is a constant reduction even as sounds and samples are introduced, they enter the roving mulch in a stylish slide.

The rolling ocean was a radiant blue, deep green and murky shade of black. The stars flickered up high above as the 100th tide crashed softly against the beachfront. Sat in a little bar he watched the world go by before his eyes as the boats bobbed and danced upon the water in the distance. Amidst the sand there were cries from late night lovers and free spirits, he cared little for their hedonism and romance. He simply sipped his drink and looked out towards the last glimmer of the dying sun. 

Rhode & Brown are set to release a new EP on Slam City Jams, a sun kissed affair which exists as a beautiful, nostalgic reminder of the dream house era. A near perfect release.

The earth spun slowly down below as his spaceship travelled with perilous freedom through a time and space millions of miles away from home. One day he might retreat back to the greenery of land down there but for now he simply hoped that his one true love might fly into the night sky and join him...

This one is beautiful, delicate and spacious. Helium III is a mysterious producer and 'Waiting 4 U' is about as perfect as deep house can get. You have been warned, enter the ethereal.

The bird flew high through the city between the tall, towering buildings. It could not see the mess which lay down below amidst the streets for it was surrounded by the deep blue glow of the morning light and the mirrored reflections of the city skyscrapers which stood tall like monsterous dinosaurs atop the sprawling landscape. There was not a cloud in the sky today as the smacky dove left London for the last time. It would travel south above the sea to a place of warmth far, far away. 

Trinity Carbon continues the breakbeat and rave revival with a four track EP in what makes up the first Art-E-Fax release. This was our favourite cut from the new release which features beautiful strings and a rugged but steady beat.

The search party had travelled far and wide and some had come from as far away as Japan to find the deepest sense of mystery which lurked beneath the might hill. The cliff face was rugged and jagged as they looked upwards from base camp, the only way down was up and that was the next step upon the quest...

Cornelius Doctor & Tushen Raï appear on Hard Fist with a new EP packed with hypnotic magic and intriguing melody. Percussion bangs in all glory and this one is right for the deep, moody dancefloor.

New Tallinn-based imprint @gestaltlabel has certainly positioned itself as "one to watch" with its first few missives exploring the spaces between electro, ambient and dub techno. Out 22nd September, the fourth release on the label is from Dublin native @sputnik_one, who comes correct with four high velocity electro cuts. We're very happy to be premiering the title track 'Return', a forceful Drexciya/Bicep hybrid that goes off like an underwater explosion.

The waves moved slowly in the haze of the morning mist. The tide was out and the sandy beach was glowing in the pale light of the morning sun, upon it walked a beautiful horse which left a soft trail of footprints behind. Soon the beach would be full of people who had come to bathe in the last embers of the summer sunshine but for now it was empty and bliss. These parts rarely allowed for such solitude and love - they were often overwhelmed by the number of humans and their cackle which followed. 

Bobby Pleasure is set to release his first solo EP on Trouble Maker, an imprint based out of East London which has gathered a firm following and support. The EP also features a remix by none other than Craig Richards.
