The sky was a bitter shade of ominous black, the occasional flicker and flash of stars could be seen darting across the stiff backdrop only to vanish as quickly as they had emerged. Any minute now it seemed as if something might give way - an astral catalyst for something more, something greater than we might ever be capable of understanding. Once upon a time they said that it had all started with a great big boom, now what? Was this the next in the series? 

bonebrokk is set to release a new EP on Infinite Machine, a futuristic bass heavy affair destined for big soundsystems and dark rooms. The release also comes neatly wrapped up with a remix by one of the UK's most infamous techno pioneers, Surgeon. There isn't any messing about here.

Fraxinus emerges from temporary suspension with a monolithic 6-track offering on his new self-release label Powerplant. This is his debut EP Position [Displacement], carved from a solid block of Devonian granite.

After a 4-year dormancy, the Amsterdam-based artist returns with a 30 minute transmission of earth-shaking kick drums, thunderous percussion and razor-sharp sound design. The label’s inaugural release simultaneously marks the first proper outing for the artist, following a run of compilation features & special edition vinyl excursions dating back to 2014.

Position [Displacement] is a journey of divergent moods & cadences, from the wistful flutes of opener 'Overland' to final track 'Laced'’s uncompromising arpeggios. Billowing melodies & piercing stabs run in tandem with a pummelling & steppy rhythm section; 'Source Code' builds steadily, paving the way for 'Pass One'’s warehouse-ready assault. The blooming, fluorescent synths of '115 (Kondo)' — named for the mythical Amsterdam club — create a mid-way moment of euphoria, before 'Larch' marches on with its clattering drums.

The tracks clearly contain DNA from Fraxinus’ foundations with the Her Records cohort — lean, direct & forward-thinking. This time around the aesthetic is more focused, transferred to techno schematics but veering away from 4/4 fare. The sonics have been compacted into dense slabs of energy, primed for soundsystem dispatch.

Wholly original, crafted with precision; Position [Displacement] serves as a powerful statement of intent for both artist & label.

Having known about his excellent production skills for a while, we were quite eager to unearth this hidden gem. It took a moment to put together but everyone’s patience paid off and we can proudly present you this beautiful 5 track record.

The Wearside raised and Berlin based artist provides the perfect formula for a club ready yet emotively aware package, making it hard to believe that this is only his debut EP. The media ecosystem of Beyond Dualism combines a game, an Instagram bot, generative radio, and a full-length album at the forefront of the high-concept universe. The rhizomatic blend of web development, sound engineering, and conceptual framework does not diminish the joyous energy of Tim Shatnyy’s sonic adventures. Beyond Dualism’s digi-charms coalesce into a dynamic tension of minimalist electronic music, funky glitch, club-ready heaviness, and a boundless, idiosyncratic approach of disorientating arrangements.

Beyond Dualism is the result of Shatnyy’s deep, ongoing process of inner listening, constant change, and spiritual inquiry. It is a perfectly closed cycle of artistic creation, featuring hyperrealistic sound design and visionary manipulation on meta-levels of composition.
