Imre Kiss returns to Crisis for his first solo offering on the label.
He kicks things off with ‘Time Spent Well’, an emotional roller coaster merging lines between Italo, House and New Beat. ‘Hysteric (3am mix)’ as it’s title suggest, is a no-frills Chicago-style acid trip intended for smoke filled basements.
The repetitive bassline and hefty 808 drums of ‘Repeater’ are a perfect match for any DJ looking to hypnotize the dance floor, while the title track ‘Mer de Désir’ has a warm, old school analogue feel to it, reminiscing the solo work of TG’s Chris Carter.
Closing up the EP is Auratekh’s lush re-imagination of ‘Mer de Désir’ to a slow burning journey back to the 90’s progressive house era.

For our 8th Podcast we welcome @timothyclerkin to the podcast series.

Timothy Clerkin is an Amsterdam based producer, live act & DJ, who has been releasing records, playing live & DJ’ing all over the world since 2010.

After spending a number of years cutting his teeth as one half of international DJ duo the Eskimo Twins, he has been releasing music under various solo names for a number of years now.

With a string of rabidly received EP’s with his birth moniker under his belt, he is now touring his electric & ambitious live show, which has been described as a filthy, extensive journey through clubbing.

2018 saw him launch his own label ‘Insult To Injury’ which, after only a handful of releases, has already been heavily supported by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Optimo, Vladimir Ivkovic, Ivan Smagghe, Erol Alkan, Lena Willikens & Lovefingers.

This is a pure club mix from the artists stacked full of plenty of dance floor smashers plusing through a eclectic mix of electronic gold, through ambient electro, techno, breakbeat and chock full of acid. Rave on.

Face down, cheek sticking to the hot leather, he gripped the sides of the bed as the needle dragged across his skin in a continuous motion. He grimaced as it scaled the bone on his shoulder, before relaxing the corners of his mouth back into a smile. Although the discomfort remained a constant, he couldn’t help but enjoy the thick black ink penetrating his skin, over and over again. For him there would always be pleasure in pain.

Predominantly known for his series of collaborations, most notably alongside Palmbomen II and Innershades, Dutch producer and DJ Betonkust has taken his machine-driven creations to labels like Dekmantel, Pinkman and 1080p. For his new solo outing he crafts four acid-drenched recordings for Rotterdam’s Bar Records that are tinged with the melancholic harmonies and bittersweet melodies he’s become synonymous with.

Embarking the train to her destination she felt a pang of nerves, her belly churned frantically. After months of virtual back and forth, she'd built this face to face meeting up in her head, playing out all possible scenarios over and over. In her mind everything depended on this going well, she'd already decided this was her last chance.

Eltron's Dom Trojga imprint shares a sentiment about this year that will ring true with many: "despite it all, it was music that kept us going, that held us together while we were apart, that lit our hope, that coloured our days." In that spirit, for their fifth release they've brought together some friends and label artists, past, present and future, for their second V/A in the Domownicy Różnoracy series. Eltron's fellow Seltron 400 member SLG is back again for volume 2, and this time he's joined by several other talents from Poland's electronic music scene; jamaszka_FT, Evius, Botanica, and two debuts on the label from We Are Radar co-founder Olivia and Szum boss Charlie.

Spazio's eight release takes quite a different musical route than earlier releases, without leaving the main idea of the label.

The LP contains four tracks of the Malmö based band Toi Let. The tracks spans from more classical rock to a more experimental and instrumental sound.

On the B-side you find three remixes of the track Leatherman. It's a more dance oriented sound. B1 is an acidic affair produced by tOWLIE, the boss of the infamous Stockholm label kÄFTEN. B2 is produced by our own Behrang Mohammadi, adding some quirkyness to the B-side. While B3 takes another direction, and is produced by Döden, which is a solo project of one of the members of Toi Let.

Naranja is a french DJ and producer, born in Toulouse and based in Paris. Influenced by the 80s aesthetic, he likes to play with genre, in his DJ set or in his productions. Expect a wild and unrestrained journey, from proto house to italo disco, and from EBM to acid.
This mix was crafted to be the soundtrack of a dystopian post-covid rave, sending bass waves to your brain, and making you dance like there’s no tomorrow.

Scanning out the gap between Italo, new wave, EBM and new beat, ‘Horizons’ shifts seamlessly from forward-moving, arpeggio-laden circuitry (‘JW’, ‘Infinity Room') to hi-intensity body music (’New Horizons’), through ambientoid spaced-out sonic explorations (‘Uncharted Territories’) and quirky downtempo chuggers (‘Reverie’, ‘Psychic Process’). A kaleidoscope of rhythmic tricks and shape-shifting mirages, June’s scope-expanding six-track voyage vows to play mind games with its listener till all lights have gone off.
