London based Swede Blende is an unashamed disco advocate, creating retro music for the modern age. Featuring the lively vocals of Hercules & Love Affair singer Gustaph, ‘Running’ takes the height of 80’s electrofunk into the present day.

Released on Ghentbased Eskimo Recordings, ‘Running’ is remixed by Dutch heroes Kraak & Smaak who stretch the track out into a warm, stirring house anthem as well as Knight One, who slows the pace and shines up the original into an exhilarating pop classic.

Once upon a time, The Bearded Man had an idea. He noticed that although the days were plenty long enough in the summer, they were far too short in the winter. This was way back, thousands of years ago, before people had any concept of the solar system or astronomy. This was when people believed that a variety of gods were responsible for everything. For our hero, getting more sunshine in the winter was as simple as finding the responsible god and just stealing the sunshine from him. Seriously, how hard could that be? He began his quest as we often do, by looking through the phonebook. Sure enough, he found the address of the god responsible for sunshine. He went to the address in the moonlight, picked up a rock, and proceeded to smash a window. Sure enough, sitting out in the open in the living room - not even in a safe mind you - was the sunshine. If you happen to know anything at all about the god who was responsible for sunshine back in those days, you would know that he was a mighty fast runner. Obviously smashing a window set off the alarm in this guy’s house. Our hero looked up and saw the angry god staring back at him. He grabbed the sunshine and ran for his life with the god running right behind him in the moonlight. TBM genuinely believed that he was faster. The trouble was, he soon tripped over a rock and dropped the sunshine, shattering it into a million pieces. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why nowadays there's barely any sunshine in the winter in the Netherlands at all. So much for trying to be a hero.

Everybody who knows Connaisseur, will probably be aware of the fact that we simply love the concept of remixes. To find the right person for a specific track in order to turn an already amazing original into a new direction, is always an exciting challenge. Of course, there is always some wishful thinking on our side about what it will turn out to be like. Usually, we are completely wrong, which however doesn’t mean that we are not happy with the result. Usually, we love the result even more than our own brainchild. 
In April, we released Of Norway’s sophomore album "The Loneliest Man In Space", a diverse masterpiece. Since then, we have been searching for remixers whom we personally really like and of whom we are sure they can turn the track into a direction we can’t even imagine. It was a bit of a journey, but now after the product ist completed, we are more than happy that we were able to bring such a group of remixers together on one product.

As every remixer has delivered such a great interpretation, we decided to give each of them enough space to be discovered, which is why we will be releasing one remix per week over the course of two months. A selection of these remixes can be found on a 12“ extract. One extra remix is exclusively for radio and streaming.

Two tracks to choose from here with Everybody being an important standout; who doesn't love a piano filled anthem for the new year? Sahara Rising also highlights the consummate production skills from the boys and can be played in a variety of settings. Just great music!

https://soundcloud.com/iloiloilo is one of the more unique producers coming from Iceland past 20 years. In 2011 he became a widely known name on dancefloors around the world with his edit of New Musik’s classic ‘Warp’ and more recently with the 2017 hit ‘Everybody’ on OOFT!’s label Foto Recordings. ILO has a great catalogue of releases on labels such as Rebirth, S-Hit Records and Thule’s legendary offshoot 66 Degrees Records dating back to 2001. He’s also been a much sought-after remixer through the years. ILO has made remixes for some of Iceland's widely known artists, for example, Sigur Rós, múm and GusGus. Having him finally in the Lagaffe family is a great honour. 

The two tracks take the listener on a ride in terms of length, Take You To Love by ILO is a two track piece divided into the A side: Take You To Love and the B side: Miracles. 

Take You To Love is a slow breaky ode to the Naked Music’s 90s classic ‘I’ll Take You To Love’. It’s unconventional bpm, diva vocals and breakbeats make an interesting combination that hits you right in the feels. On the flip side is the house anthem ‘Miracles’ which offers more soothing vibes, but still hits you heavy with a thumping bassline and soulful vocals. “I still believe in miracles” it keeps repeating in your head for a hypnotizing 15-minute journey.

ILO’s style of arranging the tracks without rushing hypnotizes the listener, and before you know it you’ve gone on a 15-minute ride through ILO’s vast soundscape.

The equation was written abruptly in chalk upon the blackboard at the centre of the room. Watching from up high above she looked down upon the empty room and glanced outwards to the world on the other side of the glass. She pondered for a second, reconciling for the fact that there might be a hidden variable within the problem - something unknown and outwith the concious realm of thought. In the corner of the room a small fan buzzed and cast air across the stale theatre, it was little to be excited about. 

Morphology is set to release a new album on B12's infamous Firescope label which has seen a rallying revival as of late replacing the acclaimed B12 imprint itself.

The island was a beautiful escape from reality - the soft, rolling waves moved back and forth against the shore. The sand was delicate and golden, an exciting paradise which offered the world to visitors from far away lands. However, deep in the jungle there was to be a wild and wonderful party that night. A bizzarre explosion of light and colour and dance. The euphoria amidst the island was rife and the excitement was at time unbearable... colour was everywhere. 

T.E.N.S. is a record label designed to encourage the music to speak for itself - effective, robust and purveyors of the finest in dance and electronics.

The Magic Ray are releasing a brand new EP this week! 'Ce n'est pas toi' is out 15th June on digital and transparent 7", limited to just 30 copies. There's a launch party taking place the same day at Berlin's 8mm Bar.

Led by Fred Bigo, who started out in Paris' late '90s experimental noise scene, the band's self-titled debut album came out last year on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autumno imprint, with remixes from Simple Symmetry and Khidja.

We're premiering the title track from the new EP, which fizzes with spiky guitar lines, swarming synths and Bigo's quintessentially Gallic vocals.

Jesse Futerman takes to the Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest (SOBO) imprint for the first time to release the 'Waterzone' EP, which features the smooth grooving house ballad of a title track.

Futerman linked with a collection musicians in Beverly Glenn-Copeland on vocals, Chris Edmondson on saxophone and Stacey Shopsowitz on bass to showcase a new side to his artistry with the 'Waterzone' EP. The result is a collection of three tracks that fuse intricate organic arrangements. As a whole, it's an incredibly beautiful release, one primed for a summer dance.

The 'Waterzone' EP is set for release August 24.

PREMIERE: The Field - Who Goes There

There was much to see and much to do beneath the covered streets, the tarpaulin which hung from atop the towering buildings cast a shadow down upon the densely packed close. This was Owino market and the price was right for whatever and whichever wonder you chose to buy upon that fine day. The air was close and the tiny alleyways packed with the hustle and bustle of people moving between market stalls - the heat was stale under the tightly packed coveralls and inside was all the trinkets and treats you might ever desire. 

Kawuku Sound is the collaborative project of two electronic producers Contours and Cervo who have worked alongside Ugandan percussion troupe Fonkodelis Arkestra. They have release a six track EP with a blend of influences.

There was very little to be seen out here but for rocks and sand. The dust blew abruptly in great clouds across the open expanse under the dense breeze of the midsummer wind. It was hot and heavy, making the eyes sting and a clenched face a must. The glowing pink sky offered the slight promise of rain and a cool release at some point in the near future but for now it was up to them to ride out the mist in all the glory of the Eastern world. It was going to be a long afternoon...

Terr is an artist moving from strength to strength - following releases on the likes of Permanent Vacation she now appears on Clash Lion with a sprawling assortment of electronics.

The people in the room began to dance, worries were left outside on the pavement and would not be collected until sometime tomorrow morning. All love within this desparate place was to be found amidst the room, what was external was to be forgotten and ignored for the time being. He had come here to dance with freedom and self preservation. This was his night upon the floor and the rest of society could give a damn how he moved to and fro with a swing in his step. 

Ryan Berkeley is set to release an inspired new EP on Houses In Motion in what will be the fifth outing on the record label. A strong release spanning a breadth of genres and style - this one is a treat.

The sunlight was piercing through the blind as he lay softly upon the cushioned floor. Inside the apartment it was still dark and shadowy after the carnage of the night before. Opwning his eyes he looked around to observe the scene which had unfolded. Toppled tables and chairs lay scattered upon the floor like discarded toys whilst music still echoed on from the speaker sat promptly in the corner of the room. He let out a sigh and smiled, this was home. 

ONIPA is set to release a new afro inspiredEP on Mawimbi Records and Wormfood Records. Mr. Boom is on remix duties for this one.

The earth rotated slowly day by day, the moon would appear only to be swept away by the dense blue sky of the morning and the radiant light. The sun had more power than we might ever imagine - to some it was a god, to others simply an incomprehensible object millions of miles away beyond reach. Heaven forbid the day we might find ourself within the touching distance of the great orb for we might burn helplessly to death - a little planet wiped out by fire, one with which we should never have played. 

Night Noise are set to release a new EP by Mantas & Vencla complete with an intriguing rework by the infamous Pete Herbert. Not one to take half measures his cut is inspired and strong.

Chicago veteran Chrissy is one of the most versatile DJs out there, effortlessly joining the dots between house, disco, jungle and footwork. He's certainly no slouch as a producer either, having released on a range of labels including Freerange, Hypercolour and Planet Mu. His latest album 'Resilience' is a callback to the classic rave sounds of his Midwestern youth, packed full of choppy breakbeats and euphoric pianos.

'Resilience' is being released on Chiwax as a series of three individual 12" EPs, followed by the full digital album in November. Part 2 is out later this week, and we've got the premiere of 'Play Structure' which features a guest appearance from Berlin-based techno artist Dean Grenier.
