The flames burned bright; shades of auburn, gold and orange searing into her eyes. She couldn't tear her eyes away from it: there was something about fire that enraptured her. It was as though she could see something within it that guided her path, that showed her things she couldn't normally see. For her it had healing powers beyond the physical and the tangible. 

Dudbridge Garage, the world's local garage, is opening its doors once again for another instalment from label co-founder Chungo. Now on its fourth release, following EPs from himself and fellow head honcho LeftLeft, they continue their mission to showcase their contemporary spin on the sounds of UKG with two hypnotic tracks full of warm bass, crisp percussion and chopped vocal samples.

London producer and UKG extraordinaire Yosh pulls up with five ruff ‘n’ ready cuts of breaksy garage designed to get lairy to. It’s been a meteoric rise for the artist whose work rate never seems to falter; from bass-driven breakbeat to bubblegum 2-step and raw, ravey cuts - Yosh brings a certain quality to every production; a distinctive flavour within a bubbling scene.

In many ways Breaks N Pieces is the perfect platform for Yosh to show what he can do. We kick off with ‘A Moment’; a jungle inspired cut of 140 steps, echoing dubs and vocal samples creating a sense of urgency and darkness as sweat drips from the roof. The stripped-back approach remains as we meander into ‘Take A Walk With Me’. Less like a walk and more like a run, this twisting cut of breakbeat is a vibe-builder; the perfect accompaniment from midnight to morning. 

‘10 Tiger Strike’ features old Wu-Tang samples and typically minimal production; bringing a certain essence to the subtlety and precision of each break, before ‘Cold Steps’ ventures back into UKG territory with a production that sounds exactly like it’s titled. Imagine 2-stepping in a winter wonderland and you’re there.

Rounding off the release is ‘What On Earth’; a psychedelic trip through M1 Korg inspired garage that’s as playful as it is devastating, bringing Yosh further into the scope  of the garage re-rises’s finest.

Following 4 years in operation as an online-community and monthly Threads Radio show, the All Colours crew are evolving into a record label and party. Having kicked things off with a jam-packed launch event at South East London’s Fox & Firkin venue this February, the crew are now prepped to unveil the All Colours Music arm of the project with a 10-track VA release of uk garage, breaks, 140/bassweight and jungle from a stellar lineup of established artists and newcomers alike.

Over the past couple years, Native Boundaries has established itself as a respected curator of parties that push the boundaries of music and fun In the Los Angeles underground. For our first EP, we a honored to be working with a mix of local LA up and coming talent with some internationally respect artists as well. This release embodies the spirit of breaks pushing the limits of the genre with two originals from Etari diving into an elusive, yet methodical territory with beautifully processed vocal samples and tribal influences. Other LA local, User Delusion has created a more aggressive yet beautiful, edit to “With You” accompanied with a soulful R&B vocal. Stones Tarot has also remixed “With You” with his signature breaky garage sound as his own rendition also including a more agro bass-line and yet soothing vibe. Finally Berlin Legend Iron Curtis has remixed “Midnight Mood” with a very emotionally moving melodic feeling along with an acidic texture and minimal beat.

Brighton-based producer @Tamlinspeaks brings his Bitter Fruit EP to Scuffed Recordings, showing his broad approach to production across four varied tracks.

Although the EP is Tamlin’s debut on Scuffed under this alias, he has previously appeared as part of the duo Heritage, whose releases have included some of the most defining tracks on the label. In comparison to the high-energy breaks and bass-led production of Heritage, the Tamlin alias shows a more introspective sound - spanning melodic electronics, broken techno, hybrid dancehall, and soaring breakbeats.

Opener ‘Bitter Fruit’ - focussed around a hypnotic marimba melody - was debuted by label owners Wager and Ian DPM on Rinse FM back in 2020 and has been the subject of countless track ID requests since.

Next up is ‘Diazemax’, which comes across like a sequel to some of Heritage’s earlier work such as ‘What U Wearing’ - all at once heavy, percussive, and floatingly melodic, while third track ‘Flutter in Blue’ slows the tempo to 100bpm for a weighty, dancehall-influenced roller.

To close out the EP, Tamlin recruits fellow Brighton producer Parry on ‘Rush’, the most intricately-produced track of the release - with reflective pads swirling around winding percussion.
