softcoresoft joins the Lobster family with her debut release on Lobster Theremin Black, with five propulsive, space jams. Dropping 18th October, Otherworlds EP is cosmic Techno from the Montreal-based artist that will have you hooked!

A1, Meteor Shower signals the shape of things to come, kicking off the EP with mesmeric, acid lines. Mycophilia (A2) is a deeper, driving cut, layered with rave wiggles and ethereal elements. A3 offers broken-beats, bleeps and bloops - ‘Overstatement (Space Edit)’ is a dizzying brain-tickler. On the flip, B1’s ‘Social Compost’, is a tripped out, warehouse wobbler. Rounding out the EP with a final acid cut, ‘Thalassa’ (B2), nods to early Detroit machine music with extraterrestrial influence. A tip for digi buyers, you’ll find ‘Sentiment Analysis’ (B3), stripped back yet pacey, frantic machine music.

Next into the series, is X-Coast who regards his - now, well established alias - more as a state of mind than an outlet for his artistry. This might go someway to explain his consistent yet unique output, that has helped him become more of a household name, than a temporary one. Despite having a brief hiatus' between his records, you'll be most aware of the Serbian-born's, 'Mango Bay', which was released all of four years ago. Since, he has been consistently serving up stellar offerings, built for your dance-floor satisfaction.

This mix, however, is more of an expression of his experimental side, exposing a more contemplative shade to his repertoire than you will have grown a-custom to. He describes this mix himself as being the latest chapter of the x-coast ambient resort simulator series, consisting of synth demos and edits of drum & bass tracks, all tied up and layered with sounds of both the Roland JD990 and fifth element movie samples. One to savour, this.

Control Freak Recordings, the imprint brought to you by London-based party Cabin Fever, are back for their fourth release, this time from label co-founder Customer Service. Marking his debut production outing, Dance First, Think Later, features five tracks that sit on the fringes of electronic music. The A-Side brings a heavy dose of dance floor tackle followed by beautifully composed leftfield rhythms, then moving to the flip, we're hit with rolling hypnotic drums, early hours breakbeat and haunting acid-tinged grooves to see us out.
