November will see !Organism call upon Portugal’s Cardao for three thrilling techno cuts and Andre Kronert for a fine remix that will make up their 115th release. 

Cardao has been busy in the scene for ten years and takes big inspiration from greats like Carl Craig and Jeff Mills and many other Detroit heroes. His style is powerful and raw, cerebral as well as physical, and to date he has proven this with releases on labels like Monocline Records, 91Records and E2Points.

The stellar ‘Heart Cosmonaut’ is up first and over seven minutes really creates a brilliantly spacey vibe with its spooky and rippling melodies, supple drum lines and elongated grooves. Full of atmosphere and cinematism it’s a great opener. ‘Cosmic Galaxy’ continues in the intergalactic techno vain with eerie and spacious, deep and heady grooves that are economical and hugely effective. 

The remix comes from ODD EVEN boss Andre Kronert who is a synonym for powerful and high-octane club sounds as both a DJ and producer. The likes of Len Faki often reach for his work and for good reason, because it is brilliantly loopy and involving. This remix is no different and builds in creepy little layers to a widescreen techno groove direct from outer space. 

Last of all, ‘Haunted Synthesizer’ has a loopy lead synth line that rocks back and forth on its heels as distant pulses and static electricity sounds colour a paddy techno drum line. Weightless and expertly sci-fi, it’s pure musical storytelling. 

This is one of the more heady and considered EPs !Organism has released lately and marks another high point for the tireless label.

Travelling through the countryside he thought back to his childhood, it felt so long ago now, like a distant memory. He recalled the buildings, the places, the smiles, the faces of those who'd taught him so much. Now that he was back home again it all felt a little surreal and uneasy, had he ever really been here at all? Had it all been a dream? It's funny how things change, he had never expected to feel so nostalgic and reminiscent upon his return. Yet here he was pondering first loves and stories from late nights long ago. 

Bazovoe Techno are set to release an EP showcasing some of the most important up and comers in Russian techno. The EP is a powerhouse, an introduction to the rough and rugged sounds running the dancefloors and ramshackle parties overseas. Big TIP.

MAYBE - Back and Forth

In 1990, Frankie Bones opened “Groove Records,” a techno outpost deep in Brooklyn. Adam X soon became a co-owner and by 1995 the shop was relocated to Manhattan, with Heather Heart rounding out the trio. The new shop was called “Sonic Groove” and it quickly became ground zero for techno in New York City. There was nothing like it in the area at the time or, arguably, anywhere in America.

Sonic Groove was 110% dedicated to techno, a genre that was just past its infancy and exploding worldwide. A community emerged around the shop and thus the label was spawned.

Adam X had an agenda from the very beginning as label curator (and eventually sole owner): to release some of the most forward thinking underground techno music around. Realizing that goal was no easy feat, considering the volume of records being released at the time in a fast-paced and growing scene.

Fast-forward 25 years. Adam X and Sonic Groove are still at the forefront of modern underground techno, sticking to the same ethos and pushing the envelope further into the future. The faces and sounds may have changed, but the label has kept true to the vision. In an era now dominated by image, style, and trivial content, Sonic Groove continues its mission of putting the music first and foremost.

Now in celebration of 25 years, Sonic Groove releases a muscular 12 song compilation of previously unreleased music comprised from the label's current artist roster. A testament to techno's ever evolving sound and serves as a modern document showcasing the path Sonic Groove has taken and where it has led to, proving that as time passes, there is still room for creativity and innovation in the genre as demonstrated throughout these 12 tracks.

French music label providing deep and hypnotic techno tracks. Inphase was created by three passionate artists and friends: Pause, init1, and Trismus. Their commitment to releasing high quality music pushed them to create their own label.

Trismus started producing electronic music on machines, focusing on the live aspect of techno. Ever since, he continued to grow his production skills and now deliver atmospherical and powerfull tracks.

In 2021, he teamed up with Pause and init1 to create .inphase, a label focused on deep, and hypnotical techno.

Pause sounds have manifold facets. Situated somewhere between calm & violence, his universe is mainly inspired by Deep Techno & Dub Techno.
