Following on from the Cairn EP earlier this year, Brecon - the new collaborative project from Joe Farr and Will Brown - present the Cairn Remixes, due 22 November on MESH. For this package, Om Unit, Nicolas Bougaïeff , Max Cooper and Tenebre present four diverse interpretations of tracks from the EP. 

Drawing on years of experience as established producers in the UK scene, Brecon fuse their heavier dance music heritage with a penchant for introspective melodies. Angular percussion and reflective harmonies drive a range of tempos into vast acoustics, wandering through repurposed references to UK garage, early dubstep, house and techno. 

For his remix of ‘Scarp’, Om Unit forges a dubbed out half-time stepper with rich, immersive textures and rolling percussion, followed by Max Cooper’s shuffling, emotive take on ‘Scattered’. Tenebre’s take on ‘Subside’ morphs the pointillist form of the original into a gritty, industrial swirl. Closing off the EP, Nicolas Bougaïeff morphs ‘Half Light’ into a marching dancefloor cut for the peak hours.

A white bench stood perched on the clifftop, a perfect viewing point to take in the sea and sky ahead. This was his favourite place to be with his thoughts. Aside from the winds that whispered softly overhead, there was only silence. Total peace. It had yet to be discovered by the keen dog walkers and family picnicers, but nothing remained untapped forever. For now though, it would be his little secret. 

Next up on Never Ready Records release schedule is the first long player from Deep Sky Objects (DSO), the moniker of Stillcold Records founder Andrew Doubek and Alexander Dennis aka Eprom & one half of Shades. Having first met in 2005, their long running dialogue led to an EP in 2011 on Doubek's label and spawned their DSO project, which has been slowly coming to life over the last 10 years. The result is their self-titled LP that explores the duo's shared love of astronomy, Detroit techno, UK rave and soundsystem culture, through densely layered rhythms, broken bass, pulsating drum work and analogue synths.

Our good friends over at After Dark Music, out of Perth Australia, are hosting an EP one from of our favorite artists Myxed Up! The Zen EP is out on Bandcamp on 4/20/2020, and all other major digital stores on 4/26/2020. We are excited to premiere this spectacular track entitled "Divergent" to help get word out of just how powerful this whole EP is. Rich with dynamic sound design, punishing sub-movement, hair-raising atmospheres, and an overall journey through the depths of the forward-thinking mind of Denver based Myxed Up.
