Concentration had become a thing of the past; he felt disconnected from the world around him, unable to communicate with those closest to him. It wasn't sudden, this gradual decline had begun too long ago to remember, but recently things had worsened. Every day he felt further and further and further away...

Following releases for Edited Arts and Hi-NRG, Sheffield producer diessa touches down for a two-tracker on London's All Centre, backed by a remix from NYC-based Sobolik. There's revving percussion and heavy subs a plenty across both tracks; title track 'fuck me' marries a half-time groove with haunting vocals and crisp hihats, while 'further and further and further and further and' is carried by a hypnotising rhythm smothered in dub atmospheres and whirring sirens.

PREMIERE: diessa - further and further and further and further and [All Centre]

For the next release on All Centre we welcome Sheffield-based diessa, who follows up a pair of excellent records for Edited Arts and Hi-NRG.

Otherworldly sound design introduces “fuck me”, morphing into a disorientating melody accompanied by a driving half-time rhythm and eerie vocal stabs. The track slowly breaks down before introducing a masterfully chopped breakbeat and bone-rattling sub bass which is sure to tear up clubs this summer.

The next track “further and further and further and further and” opens with a haunting, whispered vocal sample before clattering snares and heavy kicks enter the mix. Dubbed-out percussion hits and sirens weave around noisy hi-hats which hold down a captivating rhythm. The track switches to a disorientating breakdown and then morphs back into a driving percussive workout.

The record closes out with a remix of “fuck me” by New York based ‘Sobolik’. Retaining elements of the sound design and vocal cuts from the original track, Sobolik transforms it into an atmospheric journey through entrancing arpeggiated melodies and emotive pads.

Fuck me is available across all platforms from the 16th of July.

Tripped-out, leisurely house and breaks comprises the next drop on Haŵs, and for the established Welsh imprint, number 13 is far from unlucky – in fact, it’s coming in as ecstatic. Perth producer Guy Contact takes the reigns for ‘Euphoria Simulator’, a 6-track EP radiating with all the charm and optimism of a liberated future. Opening the first of four house tracks, ‘Into The Blue’ makes light work of bass melodies and fresh kicks, bouncing skywards as though emerging from a thinning fog into a clear day. ‘Nice 2 B Free’ is imbued with touches of sentimentality, pouring outwards like the laissez-faire movements of a serene dancer entwined within a group of friends. The eccentric ‘Whip Crack Cowboy’ takes the camaraderie of country twang into a colourful new world, mediating psychedelic guitar strings into harmony with synths and a cathartic house beat. On the B-side, the titular ‘Euphoria Simulator’ doubles down on the bass but keeps its overall ride light and airy, dipping between piano, synths and rhythms warm enough to breathe emotion into a cold room. The final two tracks untether from their house confines: ‘Amphibian Pool’ dubs down into a hypnotic, marine-level drift, elongating croaky basslines alongside punchy breaks and acid lines during its descent. Finally, ‘Subaquatic Jungle’ hits the ocean floor, discovering an enigmatic world alive with a fauna of percussion and distortions that slope through dense, bassy undercurrents. For anyone looking to impart a kaleidoscope of blissful feelings onto dancefloors, ‘Euphoria Simulator’ sits patiently ready to heighten the senses.

PREMIERE • Gavelman - Future [Life Forms]

Call it female instinct, for the first time something didn't sit right. She had no reason to distrust him, he'd always been honest and open, but things felt different this time. She couldn't put her finger on exactly what; it wasn't necessarily his actions or his words, it was just a feeling. But was that enough to confront him over?  

Much like the main ethos behind multimedia platform South .Wav People's Party, their new VA compilation 'Static Snares' is built on collaboration. Partnering with Heresy's Brighton-based imprint Reptilian Establishment, South .Wav have assembled a line up of friends and family, from the UK and beyond, who have a deep connection with the platform. Sonically drawing from IDM, UKG, heavy rave antics and deconstructed breaks, the 18-track release features original contributions from the likes of DJ Fuckoff, Driaa, Osc Kins, Fidel and many more.

PREMIERE: Driaa - Whisper That (U Love Me) [South .Wav People’s Party / Reptilian Establishment]

Extended family functions were torturous. People you hadn't seen in years asking you the ins and outs of your not-so-successful love life and your work trajectory for the next 10 years. The only saving grace was that they didn't come around that often; it was nigh on impossible to get everybody to commit to one place and one time. There were a few ways of weathering these events and she'd perfected them all: smile through gritted teeth before excusing oneself; make up some fabricated stories; or simply ignore them and walk away — these were necessary hostilities.

Brought together by a shared love of groove-driven 90s house music, Melbourne duo Primitive Needs knuckled down in the studio during isolation; the fruits of which led to their debut EP at the beginning of the year for Dance All Day. They follow that up with their first 12" release, this time journeying across the pond to Leipzig's R.A.N.D Muzik. In typical R.A.N.D fashion the four tracks deliver a refined selection of electro, breaks and house with eyes fixed on the dance floor.

Clemency presents References (Remixed) - three re-interpretations of her debut EP by Perko, Boofy and Jennifer Walton. 

Each remix builds on the sparse dissonant sounds of Clemency’s original production into three heavyweight soundsystem workouts. 

Perko works ‘Testimony’ into a wriggling, hypnotic drum workout; 
Boofy leans into ‘Biblical Names’’ subby rhythmic momentum; 
Jennifer Walton pairs ‘Mimic Animals That Are Easy to Love’s menacing sirens with apocalyptic 303s and unforgiving percussion. 

References was originally released with a collection of Clemency’s own personal references - including poetry, fiction, coordinates and cosmetics - that inspired the record. References (Remixed) comes with new references from each remixer to accompany their interpretations.
