​All tracks were produced during a one-off session on the shores of Bretagne, more specifically on Le Cap De La Chèvre, using solely a MPC, a Korg 03RW and a TX7, all connected to a portable generator. Bottles of white wine and a consequent amount of oysters were also directly involved in the process.

Le Rubrique, who’s been at the forefront of Germany’s disco-house scene with his work behind the scenes with Sucio, is back with his new track “Pata Pata”, releasing on the latest volume (012) of the German Footjob label. Demonstrating his versatility with this addictive, well crafted, afro disco machine, Le Rubrique also utilizes pieces from oft-sampled afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.

Le Rubrique, employs his signature disco-house sound on "Pata Pata", but in a fresh and striking way. The song is kicked off by an infectious drum fill which helps to drive the main beat, creating an irresistibly catchy groove. The percussion is quickly met by the introduction of a choppy warm rhodes melody, that when paired with the subtle shakers and crispy open hi-hats, give it the rawness and organic feel of a live show. Let's not forget the sampled vocals from the famous Fela composition, Upside Down, that really tie the whole piece together. Le Rubrique is normally known to mix his tracks to have somewhat of a softer vibe, but with this track's soaring brass hits and powerful drums, his versatility shines through. You can find Footjob's latest compilation including Le Rubrique's track "Pata Pata" here.

Lauren Flax is a Detroit native and long time Brooklyn resident who has been performing internationally for many years in a variety of projects and genres. She is known as a versatile and unique artist, an in-demand DJ and a producer with an extensive discography of original tracks, collaborations and remixes, including work with a long list of world class talent such as Grammy nominated artist Sia, Little Boots and Tricky. She has toured worldwide as a member of the successful trip hop project CREEP and can currently be found giving life to hedonistic dance floors worldwide.

The past year has seen Flax busy in her home studio, refining her analog hardware live set and working on her solo productions. One Man’s House is Another Woman’s Techno on The Bunker New York is the fantastic result of this work. All three tracks on the record maintain Flax’s presence and strong dance floor vibe. You may have heard bits of the record in some legendary DJ sets already or as a part of Flax’s killer live set, which was first performed at The Bunker’s 16 year anniversary party in January. “I basically start with just the drum machine...create some patterns to get me started...change the patterns and manipulate the sounds real time so that there is a truly performative aspect captured.” Acidic with a serious vibe, Flax makes sure to let us know “Everything for me has come full circle and I’ve definitely returned to my Detroit roots. Those roots run deep and so do my influences, but I also work very hard at maintaining and advancing my own sound. As for acid, it may have made a resurgence but for many of us who have been at it for decades, it was always present. I still can’t get enough.”

Golden sand dunes stretched as far as the eye could see, each grain shimmering under the sun's gaze. The air was hot and sticky, it felt like no place for life to thrive, or even exist. In the distance something broke through the hot air, disturbing the desert's peaceful surroundings. A long procession of figures rode across the expanse on horse back, the muted pitter patter of hooves resounding in perfect unison. The figures were clad in beautiful white garments and sparkling jewels, each exuding a prodigious air of regality. They proudly watched over the land, it was their home and only they knew it's secrets. 

Parisian native D.K. returns to his regular home Antinote for the second in a trilogy of three releases over the next few months. Riding For A Fall shows off D.K.'s signature style, tropical bumping rhythms, this time directed at the dance floor.
