After a well received Lost Tapes Vol. 4, that already contained one of his works, REES
returns with his debut EP „Enter The Realm“ on Berlin-based AEON.
Known as the owner of the eclectic ‚Paradiso’ label and releases on NEIN & Love Attack Records this long awaited EP will see the light on June 16h and will includes a remix from no one less than Curses.
With this release the Uk-based DJ expresses a darker mood in his music that he felt the urge to showcase. The music holds a great deal of energy and a glimpse into the artist's mindset.
„Dutch Willow“ is a unique track to my discography,“ Adam says. And so it is to AEON's. Already supported on several live streams during the pandemic, this track and its bassline will be stuck in your head after a short listen; carefully marching and evolving throughout with a surprising second half turn.
With its gritty arpeggios, glitching machines and a surreal ambience, Enter The Realm - the title track is screaming energy from the heart of the night.
Berlin based, NYC Born Curses known for his releases on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno & Amsterdam’s Bordello A Parigi does an incredible take the original, injecting his deadly blend of New Wave and Post-Punk magic into into it.
The closing track of this EP is named after the search project for extraterrestrial life by radio wave pattern analysis“, REES describes. „Project Phoenix“ is a chuggy, extraterrestrial exploration of cosmic synths, retro-futurism and the world of Sci-Fi.

Following up on Drubon’s well received „Snareman“ EP, Indonesian CYDA (@cyda_music) comes up with a non-less impressive EP. „Space Energy“ is the name of the debut EP of the award winning producer on Soulfooled (@soulfooled). 
 
The title song “Dark Energy” was inspired by watching the 80s anime film “Gundam”. When he heard the Italo/Synth influenced Movie Soundtrack, the idea for it fastly shaped in his head. Out came a modern Italo inspired Dance Floor weapon. 
Driving bass line, warped chords & dreamy arpeggiators, sounding like a journey through space. How fitting that „Hoag’s stuff“ was inspired by a dreamy moment of CYDA watching the star-filled sky from his window, fantasizing about the life beyond earth. Buckle your belt and let the flight begin!
The EP is closed with - how can it be different? - a tune that he produced after watching the 80s cartoon called "Space Adventure“, that contained a lot of new wave sounds and 80s synth instruments. „In short: I always watch 80s movies that „smell“ like outer space to make music“, CYDA resumes...  „Space In Your Eyes“ could easily described as the second „A-Side“ here and is rounding up this EP properly.

They all sang together in perfect harmony as the smoke billowed and filled the room with a thick dense fog. It was epic and overwhelming by all proportions…

The sound was loud and raucous in the ears of each and every vocalist as they embraced the task at hand. This was what a chorus line was all about and praise be to the heavens above that they would be heard up there by whoever was looking down upon them.

Some had called them mad, some had questioned their beliefs. However, when they heard them sing, well – that was quite something else entirely.
 
Dominik Marz is a producer who has amassed a keen following from some fairly big and reputable names on the circuit. Red Axes, Solomun and many more have all supported in the past…

However, his latest offering for Glaswegian record label Belters might just be his biggest to date, a club ready EP which we’ve been informed has already been doing the business far and wide. For those eager eared dancers out there you might have heard this one already…

PREMIERE: Dominik Marz - Chorus Line [Belters]

After a cameo appearance on the Spektrum compilation, DC Salas lands on TAU with his first full EP. The Belgian producer has been active for more than a decade and brings with him depth of experience and maturity, along with a clear understanding of the dance floor. His Time Well Spent EP showcases these core skills, along with his distinct flair and emotive nuance...

Kicking off with ‘Nothing Is Ever Lost’, a rolling cut with punchy drums and a mean bassline. Salas pumps the track full of energy, taking us to a glittering breakdown which heralds a lively second half. An invigorating riff is the centrepiece, adding an uplifting atmosphere which is sure to send waves of good energy pulsating through the dance floor.

This is followed by ‘Distant Future’, a track punctuated by its distinct percussion. The dense low end is complemented by the mysterious aura of a delicate melody which appears intermittently. The beats work in perfect harmony with the bass, creating a solid foundation for the arrival of an acid-flecked riff. In the second half, Salas switches things up slightly, rearranging the bassline and adding sweeping synth lines.

Next up is the title track, ‘Time Well Spent’, a cut that is buzzing with driving energy from the start. The juddering b-line stimulates your cerebral cortex and encourages expressive dance moves, along with beautifully composed melodies that intertwine and add a feeling of optimism. Every step of the way DC Salas keeps the track shifting and progressing, avoiding stagnation and keeping the listener fully captivated.

Lastly, we have Panorama Bar resident Massimiliano Pagliara with a remix of ‘Time Well Spent’. Massimiliano’s rework strips things back a little, allowing the rhythm track to take prominence. It’s lighter, but still packs a punch. He maintains a constant level of energy throughout, with various squelchy analogue riffs and breathtaking use of pads and melody to whisk the listener away to another dimension of existence.

Mexican label Duro welcomes Esprit Divers, the new alias of Coyu, the celebrated Catalan DJ and founder of Suara. After being published on Kompakt's Speicher X series with 'Turbulentos', the Catalan DJ returns with ‘Neophobia’, a two original EP with a tremendous remix from English producer Third Son.

“Eclecticism and diversity is something that has followed me since I started to get interest on music. This is why I have decided to split my projects and create Esprit Divers, who will be in continuous motion seeking for different sounds, based on the idea of music of contrast: light and dark, sorrow and hope, mind and soul.” Esprit Divers

The extraordinary opener is "Slow Retrogress", a cut with solid drums like an iron horse, magnetic rolling bass, an edged melody, and hallucinating vocals. The moment where the train derails and plummets down the tunnel. "Neophobia" might sound like a classic tech house groove, but as it goes along it twists and turns out of reality in a deep and mind-blowing way. The drums and bass create the never-ending mental loop, until the spell is broken by the horns of veracity accompanying the lead vocal, only to be suddenly dumped again to the loophole.

Last of all is the remix from Polymath’s Third Son, a more upbeat and playful cut. The glitchy and erroneous percussions slowly introduce you to then be greeted by a neat and cool synthesizer. Creating a majestic, heterogeneous and open atmosphere.

Curses launches a 5 part series under Safer At Night: Ombra International. The limited series will focus on releasing up and coming International artists, influencedby 80’s synth music, EBM, Cold Wave, and such.
