To celebrate Macadam's 5th anniversary, Garde-Robe Records has compiled 11 tracks that reflect the image of the Nantes-based Club-Culture. The 11 artists featured on this compilation have played at Macadam, during parties or during work-in-residence periods.

"Durant le set de mon ami Younger Than Me lors d'une Gloria, il a joué une track qui a rendu tout le dancefloor fou avec une sorte d'alarme en fond et bien sûr sa touche rave qu'il maitrise parfaitement. Du coup, je me suis inspiré de ce moment magique sur le dancefloor pour reproduire une track de mémoire portant sur les émotions vécues durant ce moment. Un mois après je lui envoie la track en lui expliquant l'histoire et il m'annonce qu'il a aussi déposé une track pour la compil. Dans la vie, certaines situation fond un tour complet dans le cercle de la vie, et cette sortie en fait partie." @romainfx852

LM001: Liquid Memories EP (snippets)

This latest release is due December 23, 2022 from T. Nguyen touches on the mode of seeking, identity, and the inner make-up of the world within us. In 2019, the writing of these vignettes started to grasp various geographical locations from the north of England interplaying with 130 + bpm drive, and deep den club nights during his past travels. Throughout the Name & Form EP, one hears the overlying theme of tape smashing against synthetic organs from a Roland keyboard, Garage music shuffles and found sounds archived from dusty old records.

Visions from his trip to Leeds in the 2010’s, when Northern Bassline and Organ House scenes were prominent, can be heard permeating throughout the listening experience while boundless sound forms wrestle with the finite space of a Teac X-10R Reel to Reel tape machine. Finally finished in late 2022, T. Nguyen takes these works and gives a non local response, recreating conversations between past destinations and triggering momentary concepts of existence in future listeners.

Was he awake or asleep? It was hard to tell. Though objects seemed tangible, he felt as if he were floating above, detached from his body - simply a passenger in his own life. These instances had become more and more frequent, his inability to distinguish reality now consumed his every thought, maybe the two were never discernible in the first place... He'd been backed into a never-ending state of confusion - the question remained: had he lost his mind or his body?

Elroi and Ori Raz are the team behind a brand spanking new label on the scene, Liquid Memory Records. Operating out of Berlin, the vinyl-only imprint springs into life with a Various Artists release featuring music from the co-owners, both solo and together under the guise of Serenity Now. Each side harnesses a different energy: the A-side is a slab of pumping progressive house and acid-soaked breakbeats, while on the flip their joint efforts produce two blissed-out, twinkling dream house cuts to drift away to. Perfectly primed for late nights and early mornings, the record sets a precedent for what we can expect from the label and its co-founders in the future.

Vinyl-only label Liquid Memory and its founders Elroi and Ori Raz are back with the second Liquid Memories installment on their imprint delivering four original tracks from themselves under their solo-monikers as well as their common project Serenity Now and Ori’s collaborative work with WhereIsFenix. The Berliners by choice compiled an EP that musically certainly aims at the dance floor yet the tracks cover the different episodes or moments of the night and are a successful conglomerate of varied electronic music with references to the early days of the music. The EP kickstarts with Elroi’s contribution Transmission, a track which is inspired by Dub Techno and skillfully nuanced hypnotic pads. The latter take the crowd on a deep journey into the night without notice as Transmission makes one float over the floor with its super bouncy bassline and absorbing chords.
