Black Light Smoke fuses techno, EBM and post-punk on his Brain Dead EP, backed with a remix from Alessandro Adriani.

Black Light Smoke combines weighty drums and analog synths on four tracks with a common thread: the use of his own warped vocals. From the cowbell rhythms and suspenseful pads of ‘Brain Dead’ to the hard-hitting bleeps of ‘Nailed to the Ground’, he infuses his tracks with a rare character, quality and flair. The release also comes with a remix from Mannequin Records boss Alessandro Adriani, whose expertise sees him turn ‘Machines Don’t Love’ into a staggering EBM track.

Daytime Emmy-winning producer and songwriter Jordan Lieb aka Black Light Smoke has racked up releases on Scissor & Thread, Voodoo Down, Nein Records and his own Death Decay Magic. Known for his world-renowned sets featuring live vocals and his productions both in- and outside of electronic music, he’s undoubtedly an artist in a class of his own.

Our next release comes from a place very close to home, with our resident Lisene’s debut album. As one of the originators of the psychedelic prog-trance hybrid sound so ubiquitous within today’s music scene, the “Science Friction” LP is his love letter to the genre, as well as all of the various influences that have shaped his sound over the years. 

Created over several years with a perfectionist’s attention to detail, “Science Friction” flits between moods and sonic environments with ease while retaining the cohesion of Lisene’s inimitable production style. Despite being an album, this is still very much a record for the DJs, featuring heads-down club tracks and bass-heavy electro crafted with precision and a cinematic sense of scale. For the home listeners, expansive slo-mo soundscapes and cerebral synth odysseys float high above the clouds, with widescreen details revealing themselves ever further with each re-play.

“This album has been 15 years in the making and represents a culmination of everything I’ve worked towards in defining my own sound and style without letting myself be pigeonholed. I’m immensely proud of each track -  it really reflects where I was at musically while making this, while giving a glimpse into my future sound. It had been raining again, but it hadn't detered them from making their weekly pilgrimage through the forest to their reliable clearing. Here they'd set up shop, leaving a trail for those who wished to join them on their journey into the unknown.

Tales from the Terkaarg is the new collaborative endeavour from S.O.N.S & Pyramid Of Knowledge AKA Giorgio Celeste & The Cobra. Released on S.O.N.S' own Terkaarg Forces, and recorded between March and May of this year, the six tracks take you on a deep, psychedelic trip through tribal rhythms, psy-trance kick rolls and hypnotic acid lines.
