'The A1 launches the EP with an esoteric slice of breakbeat from CLJL. Punchy breaks and ethereal echoed tones ghost between the beats and set the scene for an introvertive introduction. Already immersed in a forest of cosmic energy, the mesmeric electro-infused bass synth blends into the action with maximum effect. Intense, yet tantalisingly melodic. The second half of the b-line evolves as syncopatic droplets of acidic frequencies and celestial rhythms blast 'System Research' into orbit.

PREMIERE: The Signal Phantasm - Rave-O-Lution (MFckng'Dub Mix) [Lumbago]

It's now accepted that label anniversary compilations and EPs should be stacked with high-grade cuts, preferably offered up by sizable or notable artists. Even so, there's something extra-special about this first part of Digbeth-based One Records' 10th anniversary EP series. Fittingly, it begins with a fresh cut from label stalwart Subb-an, a suitably heavy chunk of locked-in, early morning techno titled "Sunrise Mood", before continuing via the cut-up breakbeat fills, spacey electronics and warehouse-ready analogue bass of Adam Pits' "Pungent Method". Over on side B, Los Angeles-based Steve Urulu serves up the groovy, percussion-rich deep house/techno fusion of retro-futurist treat "Mollare Qualcuno", while Yamen & Eda drift their way through the deep breakbeat-house shuffle of "Last Dance".

Ten Years of One Part 01

PREMIERE: Urulu - Mollare Qualcuno [One Records]

She looked at the beautiful flower, which was merging its network of photosynthetic roots to a tree trunk in what looked like a passionate embrace. The moist, damp tree elevated the brittle flower, exposing it to the sweltering swampy forest, as if it was parading the rare flora bestowed upon its bark. The unique blossom was pale, and had two long, fine petals that were shaped like a frog's jumping legs. She was sure she's finally found one of the rarest flowers of them all: a ghost orchid.

Robert James' Body Movement hits the floor with its third release, this time from UK producer Harry Wills. Vimto Paradox is a four-part journey into thumping beats, cosmic electro and techy basslines, and includes a remix by Tim Schlockermann, which premieres here today. The rework takes a sparse, slow-burning approach, whilst maintaining the original's main theme. A hypnotic, mysterious refrain emerges midway through the track leading the listener to a mysterious and mesmerizing percussion-heavy conclusion.
