Cosmic JD is a Colombian-born Producer and DJ based in Toronto, Canada. Highly regarded as a key player in the underground house and techno community both in the city and abroad. A talent behind the decks, in the studio, and behind the scenes, JD’s drive, skills and continued commitment to the underground make him an artist to keep watch on.

The Liverpudlian artist was already previously spotted by Claus, clearly making an impression with ‘Love’ on Friends of Sub II. As a label, Subsequent takes focus on nurturing the new, blurring the boundaries of genre specifics. Komponente & Kurilo is a Ukrainian electronic duo recording trancehouse on analog instruments from the 90s. 

A side track "Witchmaster" is a rolling, hi tech, reductionist groove with melancholic chords and a tripped out scrape on every club that's truly mind melting. A2 is "From The Picture Through The Light", a more mysterious and subdued effort with a broken beat, tripped out vocal samples and rising, tunnelling chords that altogether combined will push you right into the void. 

On the flip, "Gilgamesh" turn more raucous thanks to the nervous bundle of cowbells and snares spewing from all angles. "The Beginning of Time" gives it a more acid and energetic makeover with a more rolling groove, the track a wonky and claustrophobic vibe that makes you feel like you’re dancing on downers.

Dylan Forbes is a man of sustained grooves. But for the next release on Haŵs, the Irish DJ producer deviates slightly from the sounds of his previous back-catalogue to investigate the idea of collective ideals from the solitary walls of his lockdown studio back in 2020. The resulting output is ‘Mind Expander’, an idiomatic release of club-orientated house and tech tracks marbled with introspection and the hopeful craving for dancefloor unity.

The opening ‘Ride The Flange’ jumpstarts the engine with an emphatic house beat, sitting beneath swathes of misty synth lines that trip over each other in their eagerness to peer into the void beyond. ‘Mind Expander’ takes the pH back to 1, with acidic iterations, delicate chimes and a protracted build up that yields a sense of broadening thoughts and augmented senses.

On the B-side, ‘Searching’ slots together gruff, probing basslines beside melodic contours that seem to dance together with a subtle rapport like two figures treading the verge between companionship and intimacy. ‘Take U Over’ intensifies the euphoria for the close, assembling a prog-inspired motley crew of synths, reverbed soul vocals and breaks to gently charm the traveller back down from the 4-track ride.

It’s said that reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else - so let’s make the shared journey worthwhile.

For our final release of the year on Shades Of Sound Recordings, our global spotlight for exciting new music falls on Buenos Aires, where Argentinian producer On The Reg delivers a stunning 4-track EP of deep house and balearica.

This collection sees a blending of warm, rolling grooves with lush pads, sun-washed melodies, and subtle organic textures. A sound that glides effortlessly between late-night introspection and golden-hour calm with nods to ‘90s downtempo and breakbeat influences, infusing the EP with a nostalgic edge that recalls early Café del Mar compilations and the halcyon days of chillout rooms and coastal sunsets.

Across its four pieces, Hernán captures that timeless Balearic balance between rhythm and reflection, offering music equally suited to intimate club sets, beachside sessions, and long night drives.

The EP will be available digitally on 18th November via Shades Of Sound Recordings, closing out a year of globally inspired deep house, downtempo, and electronica releases.

She looked at the beautiful flower, which was merging its network of photosynthetic roots to a tree trunk in what looked like a passionate embrace. The moist, damp tree elevated the brittle flower, exposing it to the sweltering swampy forest, as if it was parading the rare flora bestowed upon its bark. The unique blossom was pale, and had two long, fine petals that were shaped like a frog's jumping legs. She was sure she's finally found one of the rarest flowers of them all: a ghost orchid.

Robert James' Body Movement hits the floor with its third release, this time from UK producer Harry Wills. Vimto Paradox is a four-part journey into thumping beats, cosmic electro and techy basslines, and includes a remix by Tim Schlockermann, which premieres here today. The rework takes a sparse, slow-burning approach, whilst maintaining the original's main theme. A hypnotic, mysterious refrain emerges midway through the track leading the listener to a mysterious and mesmerizing percussion-heavy conclusion.

in an international context of COVID-19 and constant conflicts in certain parts of the world, we have noticed that sometimes hatred wins in the face of love. That is why we want to use our word we have through our media to share our vision of the world. Yes, we dream of utopia, and like childrens, we seek what our dreams become true. We don’t want to get into any debate, we just want to spread a positive word so that it fits into our minds and our lives. In this day and age, society becomes a hell, we destroy our planet, we destroy our civilization and we destroy our human condition. 🌊

But, Grace to the "Underground" music, we were able to notice a different trend, love is transmitted through music and Grace on the Internet, all around the world. That is why we want to build on the fact that each person brings his own piece to the society and that it is our duty to share values such as humanism, benevolence towards others, love of others in general.
