The walls were painted a myriad of beautiful colours, each shone and shimmered beneath the light which poured through the windows up above. The basilica was radiant and glowing in the light of the morning sun as the worshippers began to gather before the mighty old altar. A soft hum from the organ reverberated between the tall columns as whispers floated beneath the spires up above. This was a peaceful place, a heavenly temple of the great beyond.

Twirl returns with a luscious offering from Barcelona’s nightlife stalwart https://soundcloud.com/baldo , featuring the inimitable (and Twirl staple) Josh Caffe. The duo pair up for ‘Mind Games’, a classic Chicago style house burner reminiscent of the great Finger’s, Inc. 
The Original Mix of ‘Mind Games’ whirls and enraptures with its smooth percussive elements, slick pads, and well-paced arrangement. Caffe’s lush vocals heighten the seduction as he weaves nimbly around the track with his sultry timbre. 
The Breaks Mix ventures into the mystique of the rave, adding more muscular drums and bringing the beefy bassline to the forefront. Caffe’s vocals still hold firmly in the center, winding flirtatiously around the pumping track. If the Original Mix is suitable to bring you into the night, the Breaks Version is perfect for diving further into its depths. 
Longtime Twirl family member Hannah Holland flips the track into a pulsating banger for her remix. With chopped up vocals, a driving acid bassline, jackin’ percussion, and twisted pads from the Original Mix, Holland creates a monster of a track that deftly straddles the line between house and techno. 
Industry veteran The Checkup rounds out the package with his energetic, house stomper of a remix. Caffe’s vocals are highlighted, adding a punchier, stuttering kick, extrapolated synth pads and stabbing, moody organ. It is a delightful turn that’s sure to ignite the finest of dancefloors.

PREMIERE : Baldo feat. Josh Caffe - Mind Games (Breaks Mix)

The waiting room was deafly silent, except the occasional phone ringing from the reception next door. He shuffled slightly in his seat, trying to avert the gaze of the other people in the room. He decided to focus on his feet, but with every muted cough and deep exhalation that sounded around the room he couldn't help but look up, occasionally catching the eye of another uncomfortable looking gentleman. His name reverbarated on the speaker in the corner of the room, and sheepishly he got up and made his way to the door, eyes fixed firmly on his feet.

Violet's Naive imprint return to midwest America for their next release from Ilana Bryne. Debuting on the Lisbon-based label last february with the crisp breaks and dub techno of Low Earth Orbit, her new EP Strange Adventure continues some of those qualities in its razor sharp rhythms and expansive atmospheres, however the four tracks are taken to new heights; beautifully and intricately composed, the entirety of the release flaunts a Chicago deep house sensibility that mirrors her formative musical influences.

PREMIERE: Ilana Bryne - Theoretical Medical Genitals [Naive]

This Is Our Time welcomes Aspetuck from the US to their label family with 'The Time Capsule Experiment' EP. His three original tracks are ranging from house, breakbeat to electro but all of them come with a nice twist. Jazzy chord & odd vocoder sounds accompany a cosmic soundscape on the EP starter 'Lift Point' and with tweaked chirps & eastern strings on a bare breakbeat, 'The Time Capsule Experiment' is definitely the most leftfield one on this EP. Closing off the release is the sinister electro 'Solace' of which we can only imagine a demon-summoning tribal ritual was the inspiration.
The EP comes with two remixes. Jeigo's rethinking of the title track is a meetup of two worlds: an aerial stomper for closing your set in the early morning hours. The dubby trance remix of 'Lift Point' is from the label boss Route 8 - his synth pads have never been so trippy like this!

When you find DJ Sotofett and Telephones on remix duties for the mighty Joan Bibiloni it’s sure to be a treat. For the 22nd installment in the saft series, two of Bibiloni’s greatest numbers from ‘Born’ (1989), are re-imagined for the occasion.

Sotofett opens up the A side with an extended version of Bibiloni’s ‘El Sur’. Clocking in just under twelve minutes, the so-called ‘mastermix’ is a version in the vein of the extended disco singles from the era of the original. Sotofett’s supernatural dancefloor touch centers around Bibiloni’s guitar-licks that gently slide along and communicate with the other elements of the original. This is a version to close a night with - or better yet - to close a summer set just before
sundown.

The B side contains a reworked version of ‘Sa Fosca’ by another Norwegian artist: Telephones. ‘Telephones Coastal Dub’, is another lengthy endeavor. The ten (and something) minutes long venture keeps in line with the Mallorcan character of the Bibiloni sound, while giving it a subtle touch of dancefloor, complete with the signature lead of the original as the focal point. The extensive intro and the balance between breeziness and firmness is sharply done and will make sure that the version can find its way into numerous settings.
