GOOD-13 - Weird Weather 'Leather Chair EP' Snippets

Towering Brazil nut trees shrouded the dusty dirt track, only slivers of blue sky could be soon through the leaves overhead. The air was humid and thick beads of moisture clung to the green plants that bordered the path. In the distance the sound of drums could be heard, while a chorus of insects and birds buzzed and chirped in chaotic harmony, each vying for attention. The drum beat grew louder and louder as the dirt track opened up into an expansive clearing. A huddle of men slapped thick wooden drums with almighty force, sending messages out into the atmosphere and creating a soundtrack to the rainforest they call home. 

After an almighty string of releases it's been a hot minute since Swiss duo In Flagranti released their 30-track album Sprezzatura on their own Codek label. Now they return with Super Success, a four-track EP taking in all manner of influences from slow dance to heavy percussion and jacking house.

“Sometimes you wake up and you’ve just lost the plot. Is life great or is it not? Should I eat more fruit? Is buying diamonds rude?” Ca$hminus are asking all the wrong questions. After their debut on Bordello A Parigi last year and a recent appearance on Credit 00’s Rat Life imprint, the Belgo-Australiana duo unleash a collection of their wildest works to date. The package opens with “Atlandwehr”, a jaunting affair that could have risen from the filthy Berlin Landwehr canal, only to dissolve again after six frenzied minutes, leaving nothing but a trace of bubbles on the skanky surface. The gritty “La Foire”, a grimy take on Belgian new beat, fuses raw, stepping drums with a playfully gnarly synth line. Luckily “De Vlasmarkt” is lurking around the corner: this is the awkwardly joyous soundtrack to an annual phenomenon in Ghent, where young and old folks gather on the “Vlasmarkt” square after a heavy night of boozing, to collectively gaze at at the sun coming up whilst drinking Irish coffees until they drop. G-funk meets electro on the flipside, where Cora from Chengdu showcases her vocal swag on “生命还存在意义吗？” to a backdrop of supreme subbass and rattling beats. Man of the moment Cornelius Doctor of HARD FIST fame (the adventurous imprint he runs with Tushen Rai) delivers a beast of a rework that both hypnotizes and elevates. The acapella leaves you in charge of your own destiny.

Golden sand dunes stretched as far as the eye could see, each grain shimmering under the sun's gaze. The air was hot and sticky, it felt like no place for life to thrive, or even exist. In the distance something broke through the hot air, disturbing the desert's peaceful surroundings. A long procession of figures rode across the expanse on horse back, the muted pitter patter of hooves resounding in perfect unison. The figures were clad in beautiful white garments and sparkling jewels, each exuding a prodigious air of regality. They proudly watched over the land, it was their home and only they knew it's secrets. 

Parisian native D.K. returns to his regular home Antinote for the second in a trilogy of three releases over the next few months. Riding For A Fall shows off D.K.'s signature style, tropical bumping rhythms, this time directed at the dance floor.
