Deluxe version of “Sans Dormir” album gathers, in addition to the LP itself, a bunch of 13 rare tracks from Bot’Ox. 13 tracks produced between 2005, when Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz officially started their collabroation as a duo, and 2013. Some of them were previously only released as vinyls and could not be found anymore (Lada Rock, Grand Central...), others were only available on digital platforms (Arrogant American Pig featuring the great Kim Fowley, Perfect Pair featuring Foremost Poets, Theme from Mineurs 27...), some others are totally new (Cool Long While featuring Judy Nylon, I Just Can’t Help Myself…). 

Unlike the LP that was conceived as such in a short period of time, no cohesion is to be found in this additional material except from the very own musical Bot’Ox identity. Mixing the codes of club music, krautrock, movie scores, pop, Bot’Ox speak the language of restless nights, whether you spend them on deserted dancefloors, endless roads or in lonely bedrooms.

La version “deluxe” de “Sans Dormir” rassemble, en plus de l’album lui-même, une compilation de treize morceaux rares de Bot’Ox. Treize morceaux produits entre 2005, l’année où Cosmo Vitelli et Julien Briffaz ont officiellement débuté leur collaboration en tant que duo, et 2013. Certains d’entre eux n’étaient présents que sur vinyles, disques aujourd’hui épuisés (Lada Rock, Grand Central…) ; d’autres n’étaient disponibles qu’en digital (Arrogant American Pig avec le grand Kim Fowley, Perfect Pair avec Foremost Poets, Theme from Mineurs 27 de la BO du film du même nom…)  ; d’autres encore sont totalement inédits (Cool Long While featuring Judy Nylon, I Just Can’t Help Myself…).

Contrairement à l’album qui a été conçu en tant que tel sur une courte période, ce supplément n’a pas de cohérence d’ensemble, si ce n’est l’identité musicale très particulière de Bot’Ox. Mélangeant les codes de la club music, des bandes originales de cinéma, de la pop, du krautrock, Bot’Ox parlent le langage des nuits sans repos, qu’on les passe sur des dancefloors dépeuplés, sur les routes qui ne finissent pas ou dans les chambres solitaires.

Bot'Ox - Cool Long While (from "Sans Dormir" bonus tracks - rare and unreleased)

“I Need Rest EP” produced by David Shaw (@davidshawmusic), musician, producer and owner of the label Her Majesty's Ship Records, lays the foundations of the project Black Mental (@user-864207920-608546173) which oscillates between Cold Wave and Dark Pop.

It emerges a certain contemporary melancholy, a dancing and haunting vibe, a modest nostalgia for the passing of time.

To complete the EP on Rotten City Files (@rotten-city-records), French heroin Mila Dietrich (@mila-dietrich) and the Argentinian based in Berlin Skelesys (@skelesys) turn the original tracks into a sleazy and romantic dancefloor bombs.

Three Times Three

The German producer @KikeamRadar returns to @DogsAndVulturesRecords, this time with 'Testament', a ray of light that  manages to keep us afloat through the cold and lack of sun . In his latest work he has managed to take his music to another level, more narrative, reflective and intimate, mixing different influences using old and new synthesizers and analog drum machines and combining them with plug-ins and digital effects.

Acclaimed French band @VoxLow takes on 'In Troubled Times' and really make it their own, in a way only they can . Elegant in its own unique right it takes the original to even higher levels with their trademark bass. We're sure this one's going to have lasting appeal and a track you'll be hearing much more of.

The  EP is completed with other excellent remixes from Nozz and  Montcosmik.

Marc Martinez aka AFFKT proves again that he is not afraid of going against the rules with his open minded "Cold Sweat EP" for Sincopat. New EP release will be out on December 13th and what we have here is the worldwide premiere of the track "Llobarro", the secret weapon of the EP with a bunch of 'out of space' synths. 

"Cold Sweat EP" brings three powerful original tracks plus an exquisite remix by the Mexican amazing talent Theus Mago. Fireworks light up with "Samorra", a strong electronic piece with hypnotic bass and outstanding filters, be sure that the test in the club will reach madness. On remix duties we got the eclectic and innovative Theus Mago delivering a really huge re-interpretation of the track, adding even more organic flavoured notes to the picture. "Beetlejuice" is the dessert of these timeless menu, and it offers some surprising sounds and noises in an incredible breakdown.

The door of the house was ajar, lock broken and glass smashed into tiny pieces. Every inch of the interior had been defaced, damaged and neglected. Nothing seemed salvageable. She took a deep breath, this was her responsibility, she was in charge of taking care of this space and she'd failed completely. What could she do or say to rectify this? There was nothing that could save her if she told the truth. Everybody would ostracise her, cast her off. Her reputation would be in tatters. She only had one option... To lie through her teeth. It felt like eating knives...

Lithuanian artist Jaroška's music blends influences like post-punk, rave, EBM and electro. His latest record gets the rework treatment from Berlin duo Local Suicide and Argentinian producer Skelesys who, between them, have landed on Ombra International, Multi Culti, Bordello A Parigi and Rotten City Trax.

“Golden Bug (@Golden-bug)” and “In Fields (@InFieldsmusic)” collaborate with the aim to construct this slow disco and spaced out an ambient leftfield album called ”Vibrations Métalliques” under the respected Hoga Nord Rekords (@hoga-nord-rekords). This album is the result of two persons with tons of respect for one another musically, two musicians who have been floating past and sometimes in each other’s projects for the last couple of years. Golden Bugs metallic excentricity meeting with In Fields darkness and live feel creates unpredictability and the music goes on towards an exploratory trip far away!

Our choice for today from this eccentric album is “Dust”. A modular sounding synth that is being represented in apparent randomness but when you listen closely you shall find the underlying patterns, constant feedback loops, and a self-organized melancholy.

PREMIERE – Golden Bug & In Fields – Dust (Hoga Nord Rekords)

One of the low-key driving forces at EABE Records, producer DJ Lifegoals is now stepping into the spotlight with the release of his debut EP, ‘Life Imitates Art’. Over the past year the Helsinki-based producer has been the talk of his hometown, gathering momentum with his euphoric live gigs, as well as his eclectic DJ sets at the top venues of Helsinki. Especially his live set at The Flow Festival 2018 seemed to perfectly capture the blissful mood of the exceptionally long and hot summer in Helsinki. The same joyous atmosphere is also the dominant one on the Life Imitates Art EP, which musically documents the rare and precious moment when the shores of The Baltic Sea felt more like The Balearic Islands. The producer, while only recently emerged under the alias DJ Lifegoals, has a long history with electronic music, having started collecting records at the age of 13 under the guidance of a local DJ. The vast range of influences is heard in DJ Lifegoals’ music, that while paying homage to his 90’s house, breakbeat and acid favourites, is constantly surprising listeners with explorations to unsailed seas. Characteristic to DJ Lifegoals’ music is the fine balance between euphoric eruptions of rave-ready moments and subtle, progressive elements. DJ Lifegoals ‘Life Imitates Art’ EP drops on all digital platforms on 6th December 2019.
