Meet Daniel Lawrence, aka Vivid Stars Forgotten, an ambient music veteran whose latest album is a mesmerizing journey beyond traditional soundscapes. Living amidst the dynamic atmosphere of the East Coast, Daniel crafts his music outdoors using only battery-powered analog and digital synthesizers, Tibetan singing bowls, and natural field recordings—no computers involved. This album, dedicated to his son Kai, unfolds from Daniel's dream-inspired themes of teleportation, offering listeners lush, serene soundscapes that transcend the ordinary.

With a background that includes a self-released album as Transport Connection in 2014 and a feature on a Cytoplantastic Records compilation, Daniel's deep connection with the ambient community spans over three decades. Now under the new alias Vivid Stars Forgotten and our sublabel EQ, he continues to explore the subtle, often overlooked tones that shape our subconscious. Each track is a delicate narrative, recorded under the open sky to capture the essence of daytime serenity and the vibrant energy of nature, like in "Okayama" with its streamside melodies, or "Seven Light Rays" and "Easy Teleportation," which promise to transport and transform. Lamusa II and his track Artificiale moves organic sound waves accompanying them with rhythmic shady synth pads, turning our listening journey to somewhat uneasy, yet fascinating trip across the jungle of sleazy and meditative notes.  Elsewhere LVI will come out on Emotional Response.

Dallas-based producer Jake Shrock continues his obsession with analog hardware on his new release for Seattle's Medical Records. Following his work as part of //TENSE// and a previous release on S U R V I V E’s Holodeck label, Jake crafts seven tracks that blur the lines between komische, new age and wave, realised with his arsenal of vintage synthesisers and drum machines.

DC Promo Tracks #575: Billy Bogus "The Precinct" (The Caribbean House Remix)

Cnidae is a Latin word for specific cells present among jellyfish, sea anemones, corals etc. It is these cells that separate cnidarians from other animals. Cnidarians are built in a very simple way, lacking skeleton animals. They seem to be innocent and beautiful, but there is also a sense of mystery, weirdness and wobbliness in them. They use cnidae, explosive cells, to capture prey and as a defence from predators. They do so by the use of toxins contained within the cnidae. If you have ever been stung by a jellyfish or felt the electric tingle from the tentacles of a sea anemone, you have been touched by cnidae.

cnidae is the sixth album released on the Ransom Note Records offshoot Bytes. jik is Paula, 21, and Bartek, 23, students based in Warsaw, Poland. cnidae is their debut album. Paula’s raw sketches formed the basis for almost all of the tracks. They were made in Ableton Intro, proof that constraints can be beneficial and also a reminder that great music doesn’t have to be created on sophisticated gear.

The album is made up of two extended ambient/drone pieces, embedded alongside several shorter, abstract electronic compositions. You are hearing 'arp', which falls into the latter category. Its beauty lies in its simplicity. The reflective, moving track is reminiscent of early AI-era Warp Records, with its lush pads and twinkling melody.
