Long running Manchester and Berlin based party 'Lost Control, ’' who hold a NTS residency under the same name run by Black Eyes, bring us the new label Lost Control 2097. 
 
Kicking things off with the ‘Come on Let’s Get It’ EP from Cygnus. Label Boss Matthew Jesus says - “The label itself is our new extension of the portal from the 7th dimension. Specialising in plasma house, sub-aquatic electro and cyber techno all brought back from the year 2097. The first EP is from Texan electro legend Cygnus. We don't need to explain how good he is. We just hope you enjoy the ride of cyber soul at its deadliest. There's even a tribute track to the city of Manchester where Lost Control was born. The vinyl colour is inspired by the acid blood of the xenomorphs from the Alien movies, meaning it's translucent fluorescent yellow.”

The record is mastered by Dutch synth genius Rude 66 and will be released on both Physical and Digital formats.

Dam Swindle's Maarten Smeets, aka Wanderist, launches his Transient Nature imprint this April with four-track EP 'Think Potential' from Dukwa.
Transient Nature is a label dedicated to the world of machine funk with a sonic aesthetic of off-kilter techno and electro, and the first release sees Dukwa deliver an EP as varied as it is powerful. Transient Nature has a busy 2021 planned with releases from Detroit's Scan7, Black Cadmium and Maarten's solo project: Wanderist. The 'Think Potential' EP is deeply rooted in gritty electronics and illustrates the producer's love for hardware and vintage techniques - three of the tracks are hardware jams recorded straight to tape.

The driving Rhodes licks and fluttering percussion on 'Who Cares' gets the EP rolling before the distorted electronica and stabbing 303s fuse harmoniously on 'High Position'. Up next, 'It's U' delivers an old-school tinged electro number with its slamming drums, robotic vocals and squeaking acid lines. The EP closer, 'Eye2eye' sees Dukwa moving deeper into the electronica territory with industrial drums and dreamy piano lines working together with mesmerising effect.

With recent output ranging from Detroit house inspired MPC-driven tracks to more conceptual electronic work, Dukwa's soulful yet dynamic releases for the likes of Numbers, Don't Be Afraid and his eponymous imprint have won a wide range of support as well as picking up a coveted 'Hottest Record in The World' from the BBC's Annie Mac.

The shapes moved and danced across the sky, casting shadows back down upon the earth below. Little kites fluttered upon the end of long threads of string, a myriad of colours dotted and darted against a deep backdrop of radiant opal blue. The morning sun was warm as it beamed down upon the tall grass in which Pingo stood, he looked upwards to the heavens above before taking in a deep breath and recoiling his kite from the sky in which it soared. Squama are set to release a new album from an artist called Popp, a wonderful LP titled "Devi" which will be available from the 25th of June later this year. The Munich based musician weaves a tapestry of wondroud melodies and percussive elements across a record which is as deep and poetic as it is danceable.

It pays to be vulnerable, they say it all the time. They say it enough to be true. Nonetheless, the old world remains, and one should pick their moments. Vulnerability is a two-way street, and there are often roadworks, the smell of tar and the ear-splitting assault of drills, sensory tedium outside the dry cleaners, opposite the school and adjacent to the train station. They say there’s ample free parking, but when you get there, there’s only so much space to take.

Berlin-based label Hot Concept continues an unpredictable journey with a new artist introducing themselves to the roster, loket. First emerging via their own cult mix for the Deep Mind Music series, their debut full release, out digitally now and on limited-edition tape soon, taps three original productions that blend live saxophone modulation with influences within the ambient, trance and hardcore continuum.

Accompanying this hugely original trio are two remixes from London’s Jay Duncan, each taking on a radically different tempo. While the ‘Spirit of Sabre’ version zones in on psychedelic chug, the ‘Infinity Mix’ premiering here today ramps up the energy but loses none of the detail.

Steve Sibra is no newcomer to the French electronic music scene. Active since 1999, he has already released several albums and around forty EPs. 
Originally from Paris but now based in Montpellier in the south of France, Steve is a radio man. For many years, he hosted Laboratoire Sonore on Montpellier 91 FM, where he welcomed the cream of international artists to his show. 

Steve joined the Brique Rouge team in 2022 and, in just a few releases, has risen to become one of the core artists shaping the label's sound. He brings his inimitable touch of melancholic deep techno and melodic, cinematic soft house, sometimes infusing it with a strong electro influence and a few experimental touches. The quality of his productions having won over everyone who listened to them, it was only natural to (finally) offer an album that allows listeners to enter Steve's dancefloor universe.  

And what an album! With 21 tracks, it's more than an adventure, it's a huge sonic trip that draws you in from the very first track and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, vibrations, and sensations that doesn't let go until the very last track. It's a coherent universe, where every note is weighed for a minimalist approach to a melodious groove. 

Sometimes leaning towards “sunset music,” sometimes towards a slightly darker melancholy, Telepath Voodoo leaves no one indifferent, and each listen brings its own set of details and surprises.  So listen to it loud, listen to it on headphones, listen to it while dancing or meditating, but let yourself be carried away on this long journey that Steve Sibra offers you.  Undoubtedly one of the most important French House and Electronic artists of the moment.

Created in 1999 by David Duriez, the independent French label Brique Rouge continues to promote the electronic sound that David has always believed in and defended. Far from the formatting and excessive vulgarity of the current electronic scene, the label promotes an eclectic electronic sound that remains rooted in the underground and, above all, in a clubbing vibe.  In general, the artists on the team are given carte blanche, and it is above all the spirit that counts. The label does not seek success; it is a success. The success of being able to release music without compromise. With one release per week on platforms since 2020, the label (and its divisions RZ Muzik & Obliqu3) is seen as a key player in the French underground electronic scene due to its activism.
